Day three was another huge success! Jr Ranger badges achieved at #castleclinton #ellisisland #libertyisland (being sent one) and then meeting up with @matt28800 #cheriebtay #alexvolckhausen for pre-theater nibbles. Capped with seeing @thelionking at my old Broadway theatre @minskoff_theatre. Each moment was even more fabulous than the last and it warmed my heart to laugh with friends. For Day 4, we took the crew to DC!

39 today. Entering the last year of my 30s has me in my feelings. Not (only) because I’m knocking on forty’s door, but because this past year was a wild ride. My marriage ended. I moved across the country, again. I stumbled, flailed, and learned some lessons the hard way. It was, without a doubt, the most challenging year of my life.

And yet, looking back, the good outweighed the hard. I didn’t give up. I started fresh. And I was surrounded by the best people. Friends and family who showed up, made me laugh, and reminded me that I’m loved. A scroll through my camera roll proves it: even in the hardest year, there was so much joy.

So here’s to 39: finishing this decade strong, staying open-hearted and grateful, and holding my people close.✌️

✨I justwanna say…

@brandicarlile ‘s @justwannaweekend has become not just a fun vacation but a true spiritual retreat for me.

This was year 3 of being here!

Those who know me, know that I am a huuuge Brandi (and the twins) fan. Their music is so special to me. As well as the family of other artists Brandi brings into the fold.

She is the MOST generous soul who wants to extend everything she has out to everyone around her. It is that exact energy that could only create a gathering with this gorgeous energy. May we all move through life with that kind of grace and beauty. And fucking TALENT!

I also need to acknowledge that this festival does not belong to me. It is a space that I am graciously welcomed into by the LGBTQIA+ community.
Your energy is so beautiful to bask in. Thank you for letting me be a part of it for this little thing we do each year.

The people you meet and the connections you make and the moments of pure joy you share are what make life worth living. Find your people. Hug them hard. ✨

NYC photo dump:

It was a bit of a whirlwind trip but I’m so grateful for our first NYC trip together. What with me considering the city my second home and Julian being from NY, it was so emotionally fulfilling to be back on the East Coast meeting some of the most important people in his life for the very first time.

From bonding with @erin_r_williams at @datasaur and @davidgrinbaum’s wedding to partying it up with @matt28800, @hgershi, and @vroonp, and getting together with @contrabandy and @sementhaalexander the next day—each day was full of lovely humans, making memories we’ll undoubtedly hold on to for life.*

I look forward to heading back more frequently—it had definitely been too long; we won’t let that happen again.
