The first film camera I ever shot on was my grandma’s Polaroid. Back then, I had no idea what I was doing, but years later I’m giving this thing another shot. Alice-Heart the feature film is hopping along 🐰

Hey guys, Jake here! I currently have a show up @thelooklisten and the Closing Reception is Friday 3/29 6-9pm, with an artist talk at 8pm.

Matt Autieri and I dove into the distant past, present, and future in this body of work— creating micro-chipped skulls, relics, and tablets. Hope you can check out the show, and sincerely thank you for all of the support! Link in bio.

Quite possibly our favorite part of the current show, these are Jake and Matt’s micro-chipped monkey heads. Each head is cast in plaster and uniquely sports it’s own piece of repurposed motherboard. These catacomb-like assemblages are a motif for the evolution of humankind; we’ve embraced and evolved with tech over the past few decades but at the end of the day we’re all still primates. Don’t miss out on this neolithic-hyperfuturistic show! Gallery hours are in our bio.

We excited to announce our next exhibition, Fossils from the Future! Opening Njght 2/23 6-9pm.

The first ever joint show, ‘Fossils for the Future’ by artists Jake Dombroski and Matt Autieri features a collection of multidisciplinary reliquaries from nonexistent, yet familiar pasts set in a seemingly unreal future. At the heart of ‘Fossils for the Future’ lies a meditation on the playful evolution of ancient technologies juxtaposed with recently bygone technologies. Through their mixed-media works, viewers are transported to a space wherein yesterday’s cutting edge innovations, and culture defining revelations, become tomorrow’s defunct fossils.

The process of creating this show with @mattautieri has been like playing tennis. One of us will toss something up, pass it over for ideation, back to the other for refinement, until we’ve molded concepts across mediums. We’re excited to be presenting a handful of tablets, relics and installations at the opening on 2/23 at @thelooklisten !

Meet Rufus, he’s one of six in our microchipped gold series. Rufus is a motif for the evolution of humankind; from our humble beginnings as small primates, to a future where we’re more closely embedded with technology than ever before. The sculpture series reflects on what it means to be human, appreciating where we are currently in the timeline of our species.
