"A send is a send" - @mattchalks (thanks for the vibe 🤗)
Grip strength is totally gone now 😭 but glad I made it!
Still lots of work to be done on trusting and using my legs and feet... 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨

Another version will be on Unfiltered ✅️ (due to the cheers that I cannot replace with any music/sound 🫶)

It’s been just under a year from the beginning of my climbing journey. I would never had imagined completing this many red climbs let alone in one session. I can only say I’m elated with my progress so far.

Road trip to Brisbane day 5:

I woke up feeling rejuvenated and excited for the day ahead but reality immediately sunk in as I realised I was still within leech territory. Whilst performing a dance of sorts to avoid long duration foot contact with leech infested grassland, we all packed up camp and jumped in the Prado.

After ascending the 4WD track and hitting a country road we passed our newly befriended cow who briefly introduced us to their child. Our anxiety dissipated and excitement for the journey ahead set in (we let our guard down 😓).

Matt suddenly started yelling obscenities and stomping the passenger seat floor and I realised that the leeches had found a new home (my car). We pulled over an executed the devil before getting back on track.

Time warped and we found ourselves in Byron Bay, desperate for some caffeine (Zac has not succumb to this addiction) and a bite to eat.

We took off from Byron and headed to Burleigh Beach in anticipation of bathing in the worlds biggest toilet (the ocean). Upon arrival we were immediately introduce to Brisbane’s culture with a surfing competition taking place (my personal highlight is the commentator saying whabam and pow).

We all revived ourselves in the ocean, got an unhealthy tan, and tucked into a burger afterwards. With spirits high we headed off for the final leg of our journey.

It wasn’t long before we were greeted by Vinod at our Brisbane Airbnb. After the usual spiel we threw our belongings inside and headed to Urban Climb Newstead. Newstead welcomed us into their very cozy facility so we threw our shoes on and jumped on the wall.

It was a relaxing session after such a long day but we still needed to hit the pub. After some pints and pizza had Zac received valuable information from Tarun that we missed half of the gym in Newstead, called Twostead (no wonder we thought it was so small).

We headed back and felt stupid as we opened the door to a whole other gym. I was too tired to climb I instead danced around as I read the routes from the floor.

The exhaustion from the day set in and we headed back to the Airbnb. As quickly as the lights were out so were we.

Till tomorrow…
