🔥OCEAN RACING WORLD CHAMPS🔥

What an incredible weekend of racing for the ORKA athletes and squad at the ICF Ocean Racing World Champs. We could not be prouder of the results and multiple podium places achieved by this talented bunch of paddlers on the world stage. The hard work in the training, races and preparation all culminated here, and the future looks incredibly bright!

It doesn’t stop here, we now look forward to World Canoe Marathon Champs in Argentina, The Pete Marlin Surf Ski Race in East London, South Africa, World Surf Lifesaving Champs in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, and the season closer, the Cape Point Challenge at home in Cape Town. We’re not done yet!

YOU HAD TO BE THERE.

Has a board heat ever been more hectic?

Western Cape Lifesaving Championships 2026.
Clifton 4th Beach.

Coming into shore for the Open Men’s Board Final, shorebreak management was key.

Four smart ways to get to the beach:

1. Ride in between the waves, then jog to shore.
AKA: Matthew Brading of Fish Hoek

2. Drop down a double-up and arrive on top of a shorebreak wave.
AKA: Naor Lombard of Clifton

4. Launch down a mid-size wave and hold the straps.
AKA: Cody Stallard of Fish Hoek

3. Ride all the way through the foam onto the sand.
AKA: Jasper Mocke of Fish Hoek

Your top 8 in this heart were:

1. Matthew Brading — Fish Hoek
2. Naor Lombard — Clifton
3. Tyne van Achterbergh — Clifton
4. Cody Stallard — Fish Hoek
5. Matthew Coetzer — Fish Hoek
6. Zakariyyaa Abrahams — Fish Hoek
7. Jasper Mocke — Fish Hoek
8. Thomas Hofmeyr — Llandudno

A huge thank you to @nsa_sportspark for all of their support over the past year.

The nutrition guidance and access to the @ueasportspark facilities have been invaluable in helping me train and compete internationally this year. I’m incredibly grateful for their continued support.
