MORE THAN CENTURY OLD TRADITION OF ALL-MET LIVES ON! It was an amazing sight Monday night at SPARC in Beltsville, Maryland as as local members of the Basketball media and high school sports community in the DMV came together to save and hold the long-standing tradition of honoring local athletes through the All-Met list. When the Washington Post laid off its entire high school sports staff, Marc Stern of Capitol Hoops and others teamed up in the area to work with the laid off Washington Post staff led by Michael Errigo and keep All-Mets alive. SPARC stepped in to fund this year’s photoshoot and event. Darren McLinton of SPARC told me Monday night that the hope and plan is to expand this so all sports and not just basketball will live on for All-Met. Again, such an amazing thing Monday night… It just goes to show when someone tries to put something historic and incredible that positively impacts so many to an end… The community is strong enough to save it.

This summer, I joined The Washington Post as an Audience Strategy Intern on the social team 📲 I got to: ⚪️ Curate news content across IG, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Reddit, Facebook, X, Threads and Bluesky ⚪️ Dig into analytics + data-driven decisions ⚪️ Engage off-platform users with news content that upholds journalistic values and integrity Some highlights: 🔹 Collaborating on IG carousels with @zach_balcoff & the design team 🔹 Learning from Keely Diven, Kyley Schultz Sitton & Brandon Carter on what makes content actually engaging and how that boosts our hard-news to users who might otherwise not see it 🔹 Working with amazing mentors who gave me honest feedback and helped me think about the future of journalism Favorite posts from the summer are up in my IG reposts — including Trump’s Truth Social AI bot, a portrait in Colorado and a Gen Z intern video with @jillianbanner 👀 I’m so grateful to the entire Post newsroom for being so welcoming, and to Camille Kilgore, Carla Broyles & Bryan Flaherty for making the internship possible. Excited to take these skills into what’s next❤️📰 The Post was an extremely inviting and friendly newsroom for me this summer, and I had the best time learning and creating social news products at an institution that remains a pillar of American journalism and a driving force for keeping the public informed on the truth in Washington.

Heater of a day in more ways than one yesterday. Had the opportunity to take part in media day for the upcoming @bmwchamps at Caves Valley, which included a round on the exclusive Tom Fazio-designed course in Baltimore County. The event was headlined by @mccarthy_denny , who sat down on stage with Jimmy Roberts to talk about his prospects for making a run at this year’s FedExCup. @patrickcantlay joined remotely, the Western Golf Association announced an impressive new Evans Scholar recipient, and tournament chairman Buddy Marucci welcomed media members from across the region. As expected, the course was immaculate—not a blade of grass out of place, no surprise lies, and greens that have been completely redone since the 2021 BMW, now running fast and true. Our foursome was lucky to have two top-tier forecaddies who elevated the experience from a 97-degree slog into a first-class round. Shoutout to Will and Robbie, who’ve been looping at Caves for 18 and 32 years respectively. Can’t wait to get back out there in mid-August and watch the Tour’s top 50 take it on. #marylandgolf #fedexcup #bmwchampionship #cavesvalley @maroonpr

SECOND N SIX SPORTS Today the SECOND N SIX SPORTS BRAND made history! Being posted on the front of the WASHINGTON POST SPORTS PAGE really hit home! Born and raised in Washington DC all my life with alot ups and downs dealing with a sports brand trying to get exposure is not easy in this area. Hard work grinding and giving back to community kids is paying off in a major way! I definitely want to thank the Washington Post for giving me the opportunity to be apart of a legendary story for Johnson Middle School! I also want to thank Kaden “Big O” Bennett for believing in my vision and signing with the 2N6 SPORTS BRAND! Lastly, to Ms. Coleman who ultimately made the big decision on the reason why her son Kaden signed with 2N6 I really appreciate you!
