Revisiting these incredible vintage fiberglass palm fonds. The story I was told is that there were 12 of them originally around a hotel pool in the 40’s in Miami. I know a batch of them ended up in Marburger. I purchased my pair from @unique_unique_design. @kabinettandkammer had a pair as well that I think came from @black_sheep_and_co . I know one of my followers has one as well. Anyone else out there with a giant fiberglass palm fond? They need to be seen in person, it’s hard to imagine the scale of them!!

Auguri agli artisti, tutti, che hanno scelto di assecondare l’intransigenza del proprio talento, di seguire una libertà che si paga a caro prezzo.
Sono tempi aspri per molti e soprattutto per chi non ha un posto fisso, come gli artisti, che per di più in questo Paese vengono spesso considerati come simpatici hobbisti dotati di altre rendite.
Tenete duro, raccogliete energia solare, e soprattutto intellettuale ed emotiva. Buon Ferragosto, e auguri per i mesi a venire, a voi che siete più coraggiosi di noi.

Nel mio lavoro creo degli ambienti o spazi in cui inserisco figure immaginarie (clown, autoritratti). L'ambiente è circoscritto, quadrato, familiare (un bagno, il mio studio, una camera da letto) oppure un paesaggio ben definito (un lago, un fiume, una montagna). Si tratta di alter ego che si esprimono fisicamente come marionette o mimi. Questi spazi ricreano dei mondi fantastici che danno forma allo strato subconscio della mente umana.

In my work I create environments or spaces in which I insert imaginary figures (clowns, self-portraits). The environment is circumscribed, square, familiar (a bathroom, my study, a bedroom) or a well-defined landscape (a lake, a river, a mountain). It is an alter ego that physically expresses itself as a puppet or a mime. These spaces recreate fantastic worlds that shape the subconscious layer of the human mind.
