POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Meeting Matthew Fox at The Madison FYC event was a full-circle moment for me.

As a huge LOST fan, Jack Shephard is one of my favorite TV characters of all time. Matthew’s performance was one of the reasons I fell in love with storytelling and wanted to pursue a career in entertainment.

LOST changed television forever, and there will never be another show quite like it. Matthew was incredibly kind, and he’s fantastic on The Madison, now streaming on Paramount+.

Alex Cross is the cinematic equivalent of confidently handing in the wrong exam paper and then arguing for a pass based on enthusiasm. Ostensibly an adaptation of James Patterson’s detective series, the film immediately abandons everything that made previous versions even vaguely functional and replaces it with a deranged identity crisis. Is this a psychological thriller? A superhero origin story? A bargain-bin Seven knockoff? The answer is. Yes, but shit.
This is the story of a brilliant detective, in a film that looks like it was directed by someone who’s only ever seen crime thrillers through a frosted shower door. This movie is so catastrophically misjudged it feels like a parody of itself. It’s like someone tried to reboot Se7en but replaced every single thing with dogshit.
Tyler Perry plays Cross with all the intensity of a man reading the terms and conditions of a broadband contract. He’s meant to be a genius profiler, but he spends most of the film squinting at things like he’s trying to remember where he left his keys. The script gives him Sherlock‑level insights that sound like they were written by a chatbot with concussion. “He’s a killer, who likes killing.” Groundbreaking, mate. Then there’s Matthew Fox’s villain, a performance so unhinged it feels like he trained for the role by staring into a microwave for three hours. He’s ripped, twitchy, and acting like he’s in a completely different film, but still a film that should be stopped for safety reasons.
The action scenes look like they were filmed on a Nokia. The editing is so choppy it feels like the cameraman was being tasered. The emotional beats land with the grace of a falling fridge. And the dialogue? Oh lord. It’s like the writers Googled “cop movie lines” and copy‑pasted the first 10 results. From its opening minutes, the film radiates a desperate need to be intense, mistaking volume, speed, and grimace for tension.
Alex Cross is loud, incoherent, miscast, and basically confused about what kind of story it’s telling. It mistakes aggression, chaos, and shouting for intensity, depth, and acting. This isn’t a failed movie, it’s a failure of basically everything. Burn it, salt the Earth, move on
