What does it take to tackle the complexity of Beethoven’s work? 🎻✨

In Beethoven / Grosse Fuge, eight dancers play with gravity. Four string players from the orchestra accompany them in a choreography full of acrobatic precision.

The result? A dynamic dialogue in which dance and music overpower the audience from the very first moment.

Swipe through to discover how the dancers experience the work of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker from within. ➡️

You can’t treat what you don’t understand.
So sometimes my work starts by simply watching.
Watching the movement. The repetition. The demands. The details.
Understanding what happens in the studio helps me understand what the body needs when it matters most — on stage

Looking back with nothing but gratitude.

Thank you to everyone who made these past months unforgettable. I learnt more than I could have hoped for, laughed more than I expected and leave feeling inspired in ways I didn’t see coming. And will never forget the Bruges heatwave that brought Sevilla vibes on and off stage :) @concertgebouwbrugge

I’ll carry this one with me for a long time. ❤️

Very hype to welcome @mrroderickgeorge @knonameartist to different birds 🐦

A Houston native, Roderick has danced for Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, @ballettbasel, @goteborgsoperansdanskompani and @william_forsythe_ / The Forsythe Company. He founded @knonameartist in Berlin, before moving back to the US in 2020.

@knonameartist strives to use movement as a form of protest and healing towards reclaiming agency. The iterative and evolving vision for the company melds dynamic movement, music, and scenic landscapes into experiential works exploring themes of queerness, Blackness, memory, and human rights. They have performed at @nycitycenter @nylivearts @ffdnorth @festivalquartiersdanses @kaatsbaan @tanzhauszuerich and many more!

In February, the company presented the North American premiere of The Grave’s Tears at @nylivearts and @williamscollege. Featuring music by @djrupture and an exceptional cast of 7 dancers, the work looks at the impact of the AIDS epidemic on LGBTQ+ communities, from both the epidemic itself and from societal erasure, and the systems of communal care and love developed in response to the unfolding crisis.

On April 24-25, @njballet will premiere a new piece by Roderick at @njpac, and you can catch The Grave’s Tears at @guild_hall this summer, with more dates tba!

Last stop for our dancers on tour ⚡

After sold-out shows in Austria and the Netherlands, our dancers are bringing Marcos Morau’s imaginative Romeo + Juliet to @concertgebouwbrugge. 🙌

For this final stop, they are joined by our symphonic orchestra, 🎻 just like at the premiere in our own opera house, almost exactly a year ago.

As this successful tour comes to a close, we keep dreaming of more... a dream that might just become a reality next season. Do you know what might await us?🌹💤

Thankyou 2025 - After the most beautiful send off from Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, my first year as a freelancer was filled with 5 choreographic creations, 9 countries, 18 cities, guest dancing, assisting, and mentoring. It’s been a huge year of change, learning, reflection, and managing a whole new existence with new pressures. I am so hugely grateful for the people who have trusted me and given me opportunities to grow this year, from the dancers and creative teams I have worked with to every person close to me who has given me their time and support along the way, thank you - you will never know how much it means to me.🤍
