Did some chores with MMM Cattle Company today.

I’m not jumping into the cattle world anytime soon, but watching Matt work reminds me why he’s becoming a standout in genetics, animal husbandry, and building real soil health. The guy is dialed in.

What most people don’t see is the impact he’s had on me personally. This summer, when I was at one of my lowest points, I’d get 6 AM calls from Matt as he headed out to check cattle.

Nothing deep, nothing dramatic just a simple rhythm of connection that reminded me why I chose this life and that the hard moments aren’t endings. They’re turning points. And we get to decide how we come back from them.

Men don’t always talk about the heavy stuff, but people like Matt make it easier. Today I want to highlight someone who helped me keep going, find some strength again, and give myself some grace when I didn’t feel like I deserved it. Someone who showed up, unprompted, and reminded me I was going to be alright.

Here’s to the people who guide us quietly, consistently, and without expecting anything back.

And here’s to Matt, doing big things in cattle, on the land, and in the lives of the people around him.

This guide is for the ones who do it all — from fence mending to doctoring calves. A few thoughtful, hard-working gifts go a long way toward making their day smoother.

MMM Tallow Lotion – Keeps dry, work-worn hands soft and nourished after long days in the wind and dust. Love their lotions!

PNEU-DART Darts – Reliable, accurate, and essential for handling herd health.

Agzaga HayKnife – Cuts through tough net wrap and twine with ease and gives us shortys a couple more feet of reach…even comes in pink😉

Resflor Gold Heated Vac Pac – Keeps that thick medication warm and ready to roll. No mercy when it’s cold out.

PNEU-Dart Power Loads – The must-have backup for treating livestock safely and efficiently from a distance.

Personalized Gloves – Durable work gloves that fit like a handshake and add a touch of personal pride to everyday work.

Hand Warmers – A winter staple for early mornings and late-night checks. Small, simple and always appreciated.

Check out these products! Built for the grind, not the shelf.

Nothing sexier than docile cattle😂

Docile cattle are better equipped to handle stress. Studies show stress in cattle affect overall production and beef quality.

Thanks to @matthewryanmay for allowing us to use this stud of a bull. #ranchlife #farmtotable #texasbeef #cattle

Beers for Steers is a proposed bill at the Texas Legislature that supports Texas Craft Brewers and Ranchers. Each time we brew, a local rancher takes the spent grain to supplement his herd’s feed. It’s a win win and we hope the Lege will make it even better with a tax credit to incentivize this agricultural, economic, and environmentally smart deal.
