THE HOUSE ON UTOPIA PARKWAY
Joseph Cornell’s Studio Re-Created by Wes Anderson
Gagosian @gagosian rue de Castiglione, Paris
Until March 14, 2026

If you are in Paris, don’t miss this reconstruction of Joseph Cornell’s New York basement studio, which will probably become a landmark in the history of display.

It’s a space, or rather a diorama, that is highly ambiguous, since it embodies a sanctuary of material culture yet is almost entirely a fiction, executed with Wes Anderson’s meticulous precision. It’s a safe bet that this piece will be sold to a museum and that the thin line between reality and fiction will eventually vanish.
The fictional endorsement that the American filmmaker represents seems quite unprecedented to me. That the market (and even Gagosian) is offering a turnkey installation that rivals the reconstruction of André Breton’s wall at the (closed) Centre Pompidou or Francis Bacon’s studio at the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin, strikes me as a sign of the times worth watching closely.

@patriciafalguieres @annikla2005
and @daniissler for the nice conversation

« Fashion & Interiors. A Gendered Affair. » (3/3)
MOMU, Antwerp

The exhibition that just closed at MOMU in Antwerp deserves at least 3 posts. It was clever, inspiring, very well displayed with a few but very precisely selected objects to offer a stunning demonstration about secret links weaved
in between fashion and interior design from the end of 19th Century. I’m surprised this show haven’t been more publicized.

Congrats to the curator, Romy Cockx @romy_cockx
Perfect exhibition design by Altu Space @altu.space

The exhibition concluded with an invitation to Martin Margiela to recreate his first workshop and the elements that formed the basis of the vocabulary that served for the design of all Maison Margiela boutiques. It must be said that it makes you feel a little nostalgic!
