Coaching. ❤️

It’s hard to explain this profession to someone who hasn’t lived it.

It asks a lot of you.

Your time. Your energy. Your family. Your emotions. Your patience. Your resilience.

You carry wins and losses, expectations and pressure. You make decisions that aren’t always popular. You have hard conversations because growth requires them. You celebrate young women becoming everything they are capable of becoming—and sometimes you hurt right alongside them.

And then you wake up the next day and do it all over again.

Because somewhere along the way, coaching becomes so much more than the sport.

I have tremendous admiration for the people who choose this profession—and especially for the women who choose to lead in it.

Women who continue to show up, compete, lead, raise families, build programs, fight for opportunities, advocate for their athletes, challenge standards and create space for the women coming behind them.

There are still rooms where we are the minority.
Still moments when our leadership is judged differently.
Still sacrifices people will never see.

But there is also so much JOY in this life.

The relationships. The competition. The pursuit of excellence.

Watching a young woman discover what she is capable of. Seeing former players become leaders, professionals, wives, mothers, coaches and incredible human beings. Building something that hopefully lasts far beyond a scoreboard.

I have been fortunate enough to experience this game as a player and as a coach, and volleyball has taken me places I could never have imagined.

It has challenged me.It has humbled me. It has changed me.

And I’m still becoming because of it.

So on National Coaches Day, I’m grateful.

For the coaches who poured into me.
For the women who paved the way.
For the women standing beside me.
For the young women who trust us to lead them.
And for the privilege of getting to call this my profession.

Is it easy? Never.

Would I change parts of it? Absolutely.

Would I choose it again?

Every single time❤️

Happy National Coaches Day to everyone crazy enough to love this profession as much as I do.
