Ironman Wales - 130926.

An incredibly tough and humbling race, I’m grateful to have finished it. And, my girls were waiting at the line! Thank you @lukewatson08 🙏 that made it incredibly special.

A big thank you to my friends that came to support, you made a hard day more bearable ❤️ and a big shout out to all the other athletes, some incredible athletic performances and sheer grit shown! This race is hard at either end of the spectrum… we endure. #tenbyironman #ironman #ironmanuk

A very early start in wales today meant a few club members managed to score at the @thewave this morning despite the lull in autumnal swell.

There were some wiggles and some giggles before we headed back for naps and Sunday dinners 💪🏻❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

We’re looking forward to getting the girls and boys together again for our pool meet next month 🙌

It’s not something we make a habit of (we like to keep it salty 🌊), but every now and then it’s good to switch it up and score some chlorinated kegs 💦

Thank you too @jaykelly.mov for the sick footage 🤙🏻

TALES FROM WALES! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 ☀️

Aren’t we lucky little sausages to be able to go on holiday. Six days in Wales with @impainotpie, the kids and Vader the dog. I still don’t think it’s a holiday with kids, more like time out of your house to burn money faster but somewhere different!

We were very fortunate to visit Brecon - we got our Y parkrun, we did an amazing waterfall walk and the kids walked up Pen y Fan… Felix insisted in doing it in Crocs. Tups ran up and down it like a sugar-filled gazelle. We saw the @welshfire men’s team which was bizarre, almost dream like seeing Steve Smith stroll down a hill next to us.

Sheep everywhere. Intensity. If you can’t relax in Brecon, where can you relax? I can’t relax. Coming down from work and life while coming down a mountain.

The second part of the tale is a few days in Pembrokeshire. The quiet Cornwall apparently. Ridiculous beaches. Sand in every orifice. Barafundle Bay and Freshwater West. Running on the cliff tops. Seeing pals like @southcoastpiper and @mattjkredd - and visiting Dobbie’s grave. I wish Harry could wave his wand and get rid of this anxiety but it’s there but it’s getting better as the week goes on. Prob caused by my summer holidays as a kid, our kids, alcohol and not really being sure what I am doing - am I relaxing or am I supposed to be cramming all the shit in? How do you do both?!

Back to work on Monday and felt calm and relaxed. Maybe the trip did its thing or maybe I should be worried that going to work is more relaxing than going on holiday! Ha!

I’m a very grateful and lucky boy but hard to feel those things when the brain is like a cement mixer processing the sludge of existence, when outside life is being built without me.

SUMMARY: Wales is very beautiful! Still learning how to be present and switch off. Thank you @impainotpie for organising a great trip. Thank you @chry__ss and @g___bs for saving the trip… it was definitely an adventure! Less cement and more building 🏠 🫶

JUNE WAS FKN NUTS 🥜

Haven’t posted for ages because I’ve been busy getting married and stuff. Not that this is an apology, I use posting to process my feelings… and my good lord, June had them all!

I got married to the love of my life @impainotpie - there’s some pics in here from the official registry office part of it. The party pics will follow when I’ve had time to look at them, again it’s mega emosh and they are BEAUTIFUL.

The rest of month as you can see was just full of family, friends, weddings, bands, a bit of running… and four dogs and a duck.

It’s really been a very full on month. All the good stuff, but I am pretty sure my brain has gout from all the opulent, rich, positive feelings! Once I’ve sorted said gout, I’ll write some more.

SUMMARY: Never felt more happy or loved. Thank you, Pai, kids, family and friends. Love you, all 🫶😍

I watched the film "Toll Booth" this morning. I really liked it! Toll Booth is an offbeat, humorous, and stylish thriller injected with colorful characters and a dry amusing wit.

The very good script by Matt Redd tells a quirky pensive story about the past, grief, rackets, and morality.

Michael Smiley leads a superb ensemble cast that includes Annes Elwy, Iwan Rheon, Paul Kaye, Gary Beadle, Steve Oram, Evelyn Mok, Darren Evans Gwyneth Keyworth, Dewi Morris, and Julian Glover.

The cinematography is well done by Adrian Peckitt, and it is accompanied by an awesome score by Rael Jones. It's expertly edited by John Richards & Ben Unwin and has some solid costume design, set decoration, art direction, and production design. Ryan Andrew Hooper did a spectacular job directing this cool, non-linear, and entertaining thriller that I would recommend.
