I’m honored to be representing my country’s liquid folklore, and to share a bit of my path.

I moved to Santa Barbara in 2017. Now, 9 years and many lives later, I see that speaking up and showing up becomes more and more important.

We have an opportunity with agave, to learn about ancient ways of doing life. Ways that are attuned to the cicles of nature, the cosmos, the seasons, and the peoples that preserve this knowledge.

The boom of agave spirits has brought a new wave of exploitation to already-struggling ecosystems and peoples. Now it’s our turn to help preserve them.

Come learn (and taste) more about it next Thursday, October 1st at the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum 6-7:30 p.m.

The 21+ event is $55, with VIP tables of 10 for $600. Tickets are at sbnature.org. (@sbnature)

Thanks, @mattkettmann for the write-up!
