Two Thursdays ago, I had the distinct privilege -- and great pleasure! -- to be able to experience a first-of-its-kind theatrical production -- the wonderful, magical, dark horror @greyhousebway.

I also had the pleasure of being able to sit in on the "Show & Hell" (if you see the show, you'll know *why* it's called that) talkback session with producer Tom Kirdahy and Rue Morgue's Ricky J. Duarte -- I wound up being in this selection of footage they shot for it! Never imagined that'd happen, honestly. :-)

GREY HOUSE is a show you can't see just once. You've GOT to see it twice -- as I am hoping to. It's a broad tapestry, with beautiful small brushstrokes and grace notes amidst the action that I think you can only appreciate seeing the play at least twice. It's musical, emotional, dark, yet full of more heart than you might expect -- and more truths. But I suppose the best horrors are full of truths that perhaps we don't want to confront, but need to.

But it's more than just "horror" -- to my mind, it's something of a dark fairy tale. Have you ever seen THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER? This is not *quite* like that, but I couldn't not see the similarities while watching -- and I wholeheartedly love both. :-)

Whom you think are the leads and central characters of the play, you may not by the end -- and who (and *what*) drives the plot may truly surprise you. More than one viewing is mandatory, just like a great film, just to be able to follow one character's journey in particular -- it has that greatness of depth to it. Joe Mantello's direction and staging of Levi Holloway's text is genius -- and the inclusion of ASL within the plot is an extraordinary and beautiful incorporation of disability representation.

The younger actors in the troupe carry so much of the play's action -- the older actors carry your emotions. The complete mastery of their craft is evident in every moment and line.

I would be more specific, but I plan on *reviewing* it, so I plan to be more specific in that. AndersonVision, which I write for, is branching out into the theatrical -- this is our first. And what a GLORIOUS first. :-)

Still working to #savewarriornun? Still a devout fan of #orphanblack and #tatianamaslany (and her hubby #brendanhines, as well)? Eager to see some properly done #disability and #lgbtqia representation? Or do you just want to be moved by something, in the New Year?

@realmmedia_ this summer presented #powertrip, one of many fiction podcasts released this year, but which, for my money, is the very best of 2022: https://andersonvision.com/power-trip-best-of-2022-podcasts/

I reviewed it all this summer for media hub site AndersonVision, and found so much meaning -- so much depth, so much wonderfully light comedy and properly dark drama, all done *just* right -- that I couldn't let 2022 pass into 2023 without giving this one last hurrah -- one final push for some *very* deserved recognition.

All of you who might've found this through the tags I used? I think you'll fall in love with this show the minute you start listening to it: https://www.realm.fm/shows/power-trip

Tat Maslany executive-produced and starred in the show with her husband, the very talented Brendan Hines (who gives a *really* lovely performance!), and the legendary musician and actress Lisa Loeb plays Tatiana's mother. But it's so much more than just those three names -- the whole cast does some of the best audio acting I've heard in *ages* -- since #orphanblackthenextchapter, at least! And the writing, by Mary Hamilton and Cara Horner, backed with the sensitivity of Kailynn West's direction, is simply the best -- the *truest* -- depiction of life with a disability I've experienced *anywhere*. As someone with a disability, it's made me genuinely emotional to *see* someone like myself in fiction like this.

You've just got to give it a listen. It's too much fun -- it's too much of a heartbreaker -- it's too beautifully romantic -- it's too full of wonderful, crazy ideas and straightforward humanity -- but, at its base, it's too full of Tatiana Maslany's real genius to possibly be passed up.

Go ahead and click the link to Realm's site; the entire show is now free to listen to, all eight episodes. Give it some time. I hope you'll love it.

Happy, safe New Year 2023. Listen away. :-) #cloneclub The face of actress Tatiana Maslany, with blonde curly hair, pointing in the direction of the viewer as the cover art for her Realm media podcast series Power Trip, executive produced by and starring her, her husband Brendan Hines, and Lisa Loeb. Finally figured out how to post on here, so... here goes:

For this #TransVisibilityWeek, I'm taking the time to platform @gc2b, a company making clothing by trans people for trans people, such as binders and other tops for people who need them. You may recognise the top I've got on here as being the same one @tatianamaslany wore in all the promo for #SheHulk; it's from their "Support Trans Futures" collection, which they brought back after the massive amount of requests from people who saw that top and saw Tatiana Maslany post a story on her IG stating exactly where it was from and how to purchase from the company.

I'm not anybody, but I think it's important even for somebody like myself to amplify the message -- but also just to listen. I'm not trans -- I'm cis -- but I am disabled, and so I absolutely know the value of allyship -- not performative allyship, but the *genuine* kind.

I bought this top not just because I, as it says, support trans futures, but because I know my purchase goes towards doing *just* *that* -- 100% of proceeds for the themed collection goes towards the Black Trans Travel Fund, which helps trans women of color get out of life-threatening situations. So every dollar you pay for something from this collection goes to them -- and every dollar you spend on something else from gc2b goes to gc2b being able to create more clothing and clothing options for trans people.

I don't know that just me, myself, can make a difference. But you and I together might. By buying from gc2b, this week of Trans Awareness, you -- quite literally -- can support trans futures. And I urge you to.
