POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just a few more weeks to go until @designercon Las Vegas so I’m going to start sharing some of the items I’ll have with me.

First up is this collab with @mattwallssofubi. I painted this LE3 of GID Devils Paws specifically for the show.

Special mixes of @vinylwonderpaint sprayed on glow vinyl create deep metallic and intense reds as close to the devil himself. When the lights go out it casts an eerie glow hinting to the supernatural power within.

I’m sharing a table with @endless.teeth at DCon, so drop by & check us out in a few weeks.

The Devil's Paw, Filthy Earwax color by @mattwallssofubi in its native habitat: a dusty bookstore. This is a beautifully marbled, solid chunk of vinyl!

There’s something calming about black toys.

Without vibrant colours, they ask us to appreciate the fundamentals—shape, craftsmanship, proportion and presence. Over time, I’ve realised that many of my favourite pieces aren’t necessarily the most colourful; they’re the ones that reveal more the longer I look at them.

Perhaps that’s true of collecting too. As our taste matures, we often begin to appreciate quieter things.

Do you have a black piece that you’ll never let go of? I’d love to hear its story.

Not every art toy needs to be loud.
Some sit with you.
Some unsettle you.
Some stay longer than expected.

Curation over hype.
Feeling over noise.

Follow along if this speaks to you.

Those who know me will know that I like to explore different artists’ works.

Stumbled onto @mattwallssofubi , an Australian sofubi toy designer. I ordered a hand ✋🏻. Yes it’s creepy looking. The details are really impressive. Look at the marbling and the texture. It’s really well done.

The figure is inspired by W. W. Jacobs’ century-old horror classic “The Monkey’s Paw”.

Glad to have added this to the collection.

First look at THE DEVIL’S PAW by Matt Walls Sofubi (@mattwallssofubi), coming straight out of Australia and diving deep into classic horror vibes. Inspired by W.W. Jacobs’ The Monkey’s Paw, this piece taps into that cursed wish-granting energy where nothing comes without consequences. I think this sculpt is seriously creepy in the best way possible… total nightmare fuel for horror and sofubi collectors.

Matt went super limited on this release with only 20 pieces per colorway, and once they’re gone, that’s it… no repeats. The Marbled Pink/White Wagyu Beef edition is priced at AU$150, including free worldwide shipping with tracking, and is available now via Matt’s Big Cartel shop. Only 20 exist, so if you’re into dark, macabre art toys, don’t sleep on this one.
