It’s a surreal feeling gearing up to direct a film with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, a producer whose work has inspired (and terrified) me for years. From Insidious to Sinister to Longlegs, his films shaped my love for the genre. Now we get to make one together.

Hide and Don’t Speak is a horror film I co-wrote with my dear friend and creative partner @greerellison, all born from the one night, we accidentally stumbled across a deeply disturbing Reddit post.

Couldn’t feel more backed and confident in this wonderful team. Range’s Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Fred Berger are producing alongside Matt Coatsworth, with Noah Reich, Oliver Riddle, and Tom Daley exec producing. Mister Smith handling international sales.

And our talented cast… Garrett Wareing (Ransom Canyon, The Long Walk), Tanner Buchanan (Cobra Kai, How to Date Billy Walsh), and Oscar nominee Quvenzhané Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild).

Had the incredible pleasure to have a cast and crew screening yesterday. It was great to see everyone's enthusiasm for this story that spawned from my mother yelling at me for skipping jury duty.

Thank you to the cast, crew, producers, and my team for everything you put into this. Can't wait for others to see it.

A wise friend in our travels once sang us a song about the waves of life and this soulful man captured it in a ring ✨🥰 And in a perfect symbolic setting, he still managed to make it a complete surprise (a king of misdirects, this one 😘). So excited to ride the waves of life together ❤️

Can’t believe a year ago we were at @sxsw selling out every screening. Now, we at the NAACP Image Awards on the same night a year ago to the date. What an incredible night. I couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate my film @angryblackgirlfilm than at the incredible @naacpimageawards. Thank you for nominating my film and making us a part of history. It truly is an honor. @layadeleonhayes, we outside forever. I'm excited to watch you flourish. Two nominations out the gate on our first feature. And thank you to my cuzzo for keeping us protected in these streets. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this. @rljefilms @shudder @watchallblk @crypttv !!! Ya'll are fire too. I still don't know what happens from here, but I'm looking forward to the ride.

Saturday was the best day of my life. I always thought it was ridiculous when people said that. But getting married to the person I love and surrounded by love ones is something I never thought I would experience. Today I feel so happy and full of gratitude. A feeling that I don’t think will go away for a long time (if ever). @mercedesxart you throw a hell of a wedding. And look incredible well doing it. (I helped but I have to give credit where credits due.)

To all the people who helped us get here. Both for the wedding and in life. I can’t thank you enough. We are so fortunate to have the support of our friends and family. We’re are so fortunate to have each other.
I feel so so lucky to have married my best friend in front of all our best friends.
