Ratte mal! Update!!! But first, some prose :)

I sometimes go back to the first Ratte mal! public event, when I was trying to act “normal” (basically non-eccentric... I know….) as I hosted. Why? Maybe habit, maybe nerves. But at some point I realized there was no point in trying to seem normal whilst explaining that the following ethereal experimental musical act will also be playing the role of the Patron Saint of the BVG, etc…

So I let go, and it was a lot of fun. I still struggle showing the full me – also maybe as an artist and human it’s my right to withhold that if I want? – but I need to communicate often about this film of which I am the producer, director, and writer, and I think authenticity is important.

Soooooo 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Hold onto your saddle, and let’s giddy up!! Shall we? 🧐

Ratte mal! is a VERY silly film with a lot of heart.

With the help of community, I filmed the first 20 minutes in 2022.

Here’s the gist:

The main character loses their pet rat on the eve of an important day, and inner conflict sends them on a journey through the city. NO SPOILERS so I keep it vague. But it’s an adult coming-of age story AND a love story in a way you didn’t know you needed.

It’s also experimental and surreal at times? Fourth wall broken? Embracing the chaos? Great music and a killer cast and crew!!!

After starting this as a passion project, today I am proud to say I am still moving forward and have a version of the script + production packet I am confident to send to producers in pursuit of larger funding. Bless.

It has been a long way coming, so I am sharing some moments from it here. Hope you enjoy.

Link in bio if you want to learn more. Crowdfunding is also open again….. Just saying….

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this project so far. Xxx
