2025

This year brought incredible friendships, funny side quests, growth (3 nephews in case you didn’t know yet!!!), and profound love.

I'm at a loss for words to express the joy that surrounds me. I'm completely in love with the life I live.

Life lessons learned this year:
1. Every day might not be a good day, but there is good in everyday
2. Take the dang vacation!!
3. Forgiveness is hard but necessary
4. Life is gift, and better lived than observed
5. Being an aunt is fun
6. Take the risk, be rewarded
7. Love hard & as often as you can
8. Dance, especially in the rain

Calling all my beginner photographers 📢

Do indoor weddings make you super nervous? Have you ever found yourself in a lighting crisis just hours before the bride walked down the aisle? 🥴

Please don’t feel any shame, because SAME.

My first EVER wedding was a catholic wedding years ago + it was obviously indoors. Being my first wedding, I still wasn’t super confident with my manual settings + I remember my hands were quite literally SHAKING the entire day. 😅

If that is currently you, I want you to know that shooting manual DOES get so much easier over time. Practice doesn’t make perfect, but practice does make progress… + progress instills confidence + competence. 📸

After years of mastering manual settings + shooting dozens of weddings I wanted to share a few tips to help you in low lighting/indoor settings :

✨ Use a lens with a wide aperture so you can let more light into your camera (f/1.2 or f/2.8)

✨Crank up that shutter speed based on lighting - 1/250 is a good starting point to guarantee sharp focus

✨ Look for spots within the space/church that let in natural lighting + get creative composing from those angles - windows, ceiling openings, etc.

✨ High ISO is NOT something to be scared of - especially with AI + noise reduction nowadays, you can always improve a photo in post, but you can’t bring back a blurry photo

Again, PRACTICING manual + KNOWING your camera settings before the big day is the best way you can prep yourself so on the day of the wedding you can just focus on 1) your beautiful couple + 2) your unique creativity 👏🏽👰🏼‍♀️🤵🏻💍
