Matthew races our Open wave, where it's all about the challenge, the fun, and the people you share the course with. His favorite moment? Crossing the finish line in year one, because, in his words, he was "dying." 😂 We've all been there. He gave it everything he had, and that's what makes a finish line feel so good. Matthew is also a true ambassador for the sport, showing up to support as many OCR events around the Midwest as he can. If there's a start line nearby, there's a good chance he's on it. When he's not battling obstacles, you'll find him on the hunt for our hidden mini skulls. 💀👀 Skulls found so far: zero. But we admire the dedication. 2027 is the year, @mattyrez2! #midwestocr #ocr #ocrathlete #obstaclecourseracing #obstacleracers

He's been racing since 2012. His first race was a Warrior Dash, and his second race, a Spartan Super, was actually held at the same venue as our upcoming event. After that, he was hooked on OCR and hasn't stopped. His proudest moment was finishing a Spartan Beast after spraining his ankle on mile 5 and having to go through miles of constant pain and not being able to run. But he finished it! He's done 29 Spartan Races, earned 4 Trifectas, and raced countless other road races. Coming in from Tinley Park, Illinois, we're excited to welcome @mattyrez2 to the party! #midwestocr #themidwestocr #racereadyobstacles #ocr #ocrathlete #ocraddict #obstaclecourseracing #ocrcommunity
