I thought I was starting a business. Apparently I was also signing up to become an inventory planner, packaging designer, and professional overthinker of silicone colors. 😅

There’s a lot behind these bowls that I didn’t know to even ask about when I started. Production minimums, packaging decisions, and committing to inventory before knowing how people will respond.

And sometimes, a product you absolutely love just doesn’t land the way you hoped.

Would knowing all of this have made me hesitate? Probably. There are still days when I’m figuring it out as I go.

But seeing your dogs use something I dreamed up—and hearing that it’s become part of your everyday routine—makes me proud of what we’re building here. 🤍

Fellow small business owners: what’s one thing you wish someone had told you before you started?

P.S. We’ve experienced some delays for shipping of our Carob Wavies Slow Feeder in Canada - we will be shipping out this week + next once stock arrives. We appreciate your patience. If you have any outstanding orders and have questions in the meantime, please DM us on IG 🫶🏼

Somewhere along the way, enrichment started looking like 12 ingredients, perfectly placed toppings + a meal that took longer to make than our own. 😂

And while we LOVE a beautifully made enrichment bowl that’s not the point.

Enrichment can be as simple as pouring your dog’s regular meal into a slow feeder and giving them an opportunity to lick, forage, explore + engage with their food instead of simply inhaling it.

Some days you have time for the frozen layers, fun toppers + perfectly placed treats.

Other days? It’s kibble in a slow feeder while you’re running out the door.

Both count. 🤎

Enrichment should fit into your life—not become another thing on your to-do list.

Save the elaborate meals for when you want to make them. On the other days, keep it simple.
