Well well well…

It may be a year late but the Sandshifters received a branding make-over by the fabulous @helvexit_design 😎 We were out in our fresh new uniforms for the @__.shuffle Exhibition at the Tobacco Warehouse in Liverpool. Amazing Artists, Curators and Organisers!! Thank you @josiejenkinsartist @max.mallender - Better late than never!

Who would like to get their hands on a hat then? 😉

Big love to the boys for repping the new uniform and shifting some Sand ⏳

The deadline for submissions for our 2024 Open is drawing close this weekend.

We really want this to be our biggest showcase in the open format of artists from across the local area and beyond.
We wanted to reflect on some of our previous opens for previous years - which started way back in 2019 at Birkenhead Market, and has also been at Bloom Building in 2020, Birkenhead park in 2022 and this year will be the largest one at the former Marks and Spencer site in Birkenheads high street.

These exhibitions always provide a brilliant showcase of artists’ work and a number of the artists involved have gone on to do full solo exhibitions, or paid commissions, projects and workshops with us.

Exhibitions/ Artists featured in the photographs:

Not a cloud in the sky, Birkenhead Park Visitor Centre Open Exhibit 2020, Bloom Building Mezzanine
Open Exhibit 2019, Birkenhead Market

Submit your work via this link:

If you are unable to use the form please get in touch 😊

Have tagged artists in the images on Instagram who’s work was on show at previous shows!

🎉Introducing the Convenience Store 🎉

You’ve probably seen in our recent posts a number of them mention the Convenience Store, but what exactly is it?

The Convenience Store is something we have created in response to local need to have more opportunities to sell work, and ultimately for artists locally to be able to make money to sustain their art practice. We have been long time advocates of fair pay for artists - having created 150+ paid opportunities to date.

This also creates opportunities for you to connect, purchase and collect the works from creative practitioners from right across the region and get something truly original.

The store features a number of local artists and their work with price points starting at £10 right through to thousands.

We want this to work and to be a success, so have been trialling across the year so far with a small selection of artists to get it started but we don’t want it to be a closed shop and will in the new year look at taking applications to be included online too as part of the curation - although already their are works from around 20 artists so far. Having now sold a number of works through @mcrcontemporary and @mandsbankarena Collaboration. (you can view these collections on the site).

We will also be launching the Town is the Gallery arts programme next year. Alongside each exhibit we want to tour the Convenience Store Trolleys and have a variety of works on display throughout the programme - so the store is available in person too in a pop up format. There will be loads to get involved with on the Town is the Gallery programme so keep an eye out for updates!

Please look to shop with us online at the conveniencegallery.store and support local artists, designers and creative artists this Winter. If you’re an artist wishing to be on there please drop us a message for more information.

Keep your eye peeled across the coming weeks and we will share more about the works and artists currently on Conveniencegallery.store 🌎
