Bike riding across Sydney has been on the up and up during this pandemic. Cycling numbers have more than doubled in the past two years, and I’m so proud that @maxbeniac, @jock_price_ , @jackrawsthorne and @candice.xls contributed to this statistic and experienced Sydney on two wheels for the first time.

Over the past month, Sydney (and a little bit of Melbourne) Bike Gang has covered a total of 3,942 kms, spent 196 hours on a bike and climbed the equivalent of more than 3 Mount Everests (29,431m). From humble beginnings on Lime E-bikes to maybe jerseys and bib shorts, all you need to do is hop on a bright red rust bucket and let your legs do the rest. There has never been a better time to explore the place we call home.

Riding on the road remains incredibly dangerous, and Sydney still has a long way to go to make cycling infrastructure safe for all – however, there are quiet roads, there are bike paths and there are many incredible views to be found in your own backyard, and if you’re willing to try, you will be rewarded.

Get in touch - Rolling around a suburb near you soon. #ridingistheanswer
