Two weeks.

It’s taken me this long to find the strength to write these words because saying them out loud somehow makes them feel even more real.

My best friend crossed the rainbow bridge.

For 13 years, you weren’t “just a dog.” You were my soulmate in the tiniest body. My shadow. My partner in crime. My greatest adventure buddy. My safe place. My everything.

We were completely obsessed with each other. Wherever I went, you wanted to be there. Wherever you were, that’s where I wanted to be. We laughed together. We explored together. We made memories that I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

You were the happiest little guy, always ready for the next adventure, no matter how big or small. You taught me that the best days weren’t about where we were going, they were about being together.

People say they’re “just dogs,” but they’ll never understand. You weren’t just my dog. You were my heart walking around outside my body. You loved me without conditions, without judgment, without ever asking for anything except my time. And I would give anything to have just one more walk, one more cuddle, one more kiss on your little face, one more chance to tell you how deeply you were loved.

The house is quieter now. The adventures feel incomplete. There is a space beside me that can never truly be filled.

Thank you for choosing me to be your person. Thank you for every tail wag, every kiss, every cuddle, every laugh, every adventure, and every single moment you gave me. You made my life infinitely better simply by being in it.

I hope wherever you are, you’re running free, chasing butterflies, sniffing every new trail, and waiting for the day we’re together again.

Until then, a piece of my heart will always belong to you.

You weren’t just the best boy in the world.

You were MY best boy.
