TRILOGIE ARAVISSANTE.

Rode it yesterday, right at the start of fall. Three iconic climbs in the Aravis. One starting point: Le Grand-Bornand. Up and down, three times over. Pit stop at @daka_store74 for 🎃 refuel

Col de la Colombière, 11.8 km · 731 m D+
A proper Alpine classic. Long, steady gradients, open mountain views, and a demanding final stretch above Le Chinaillon. Watch out the downhill toward le Reposoir is closed.

Col des Aravis, 10.3 km · 595 m D+
Winding roads through alpine meadows, with Mont Blanc making an appearance as you climb towards the summit.

Col des Annes, 6.7 km · 651 m D+
The wild card. Steeper, quieter, and more rugged. A dead-end climb into the heart of the mountains, with the Pointe Percée watching over the road. Just a beast.

Three passes, three different characters, Aravis fall in love.

In a world obsessed with digital, I still fall for print.

Last year, I came across this image by my friend @michaelblann — a view of my favorite climb, the Col du Galibier, 2,645 meters high, captured from the opposite mountain at the edge of winter. It hit me instantly.

Maybe because this road is an obsession. The north face from @valloiregalibier — raw, silent, magnetic. I’ve been drawn to it for over ten years. Road or gravel, early May openings or the first snowfalls, solo or not — it never loses its pull.

Up or down, it’s more than a climb. It’s a ritual.
