In 2024 I was able to rest. I was also able to see some super cool places, do some super cool things, all with the super coolest people. Feeling grateful and looking forward to a different by equally cool 2025.

Joel and Carina nailed it with the Fall venue choice. Think cozy lodge with a fireside cocktail hour, a view of the mountain and river on a crisp sunny Fall day. A live band, cascading florals in Fall hues and enjoying the sunset from the back deck.

I get it, you want to know exactly what you’re getting before you pay for it right? Well in conventional shopping that’s usually how it works but not when you hire a professional designer to create something custom for you. If you know exactly what you want and can show examples to articulate that with all the specs worked out then great, there’s really no need for any design work and you’ll be quoted for production, fabrication and installation. Almost as if you were grabbing it off the shelf in a store! Buuutttt if you just have a bunch of ideas on a Pinterest board but no idea how they’ll all come together, well then you’re going to need some help. All artists own the proprietary rights to their ideas and any savvy business minded artist is not about to hand these ideas out for free, especially when it’s very common for the potential client to take it around to other vendors to shop for the best price. This is why we operate with at least a deposit first before doing any work. Now often times designs allow for 1-2 revisions included in the cost. Beyond that, it’s more work and you’ll be paying an hourly or flat rate for each revision.

Commissioning an artist for custom work is a journey. And you likely went to that particular designer because you appreciate the quality of their work and their unique aesthetic or niche skillset. After careful consultation and well articulated communication, you both get a better understanding of the desired end result. At first you may not be speaking the same language, but with collaboration comes creation and things don’t get lost in translation if you’re working with someone experienced.

Very much the same way you’d work with a tattoo artist or a fine jeweller on a custom piece that you’re investing into, is exactly how we would work together as well. And after a certain point you’re just gonna have to trust us and believe you’ve picked the right artist to create something special just for you.

Ps. We always need to put our own spin on things, so yes ofc we can quote you on replicating something that’s been done before but we will always need to make it our own ✨💕

It was such a pleasure creating this custom medallion for Story! Not only was it designed as a feature of the backdrop but also the family got to take it home and hang it on her wall to enjoy for years to come! This design was inspired by the traditional Hanbok dress worn for special occasions. This is a DE original idea as we have never seen something like this before! Suffice to say it is our specialty! Custom ✔️ Personalized ✔️ Unique ✔️ Multidisciplinary ✔️ Artistic ✔️ Craftsmanship ✔️ Special ✔️ Statement ✔️
