What a special Easter Sunday as Max has another great USASA National Snowboarding Championship finish by making the podium with a Silver Medal 🥈 His best finish ever at the National Championships. Last year he won the Bronze Medal.

The finals this year was super tense and exciting as Max was in 7th place after his first run. Despite this, he was able to keep his nerves in check and put down a clean final run & score a 90.67 which put him in first place. Next up was Robbie Raimo @robbieraimo who was in second place after his first run. His second run was killer and he improved his score by 14 points but it wasn’t enough to bump Max out of first. With only one competitor left to come down the mountain, Max was still in first place. That last Snowboader was Max’s teammate, Tommy Okesson @tokesson from Okemo Mountain School @okemomtnschool Tommy & Max have been battling each other all season with both finishing tied for first on the Futures Tour a few weeks earlier. Tommy was in 5th place after his first run but he kept his cool and put down a rippin final run which scored high enough to beat Max’s score and win the gold medal. Tommy, Max & Robbie put down some really clutch runs in the finals and once again proved that the Southern Vermont region has some of the best competitors in the country with a podium sweep two years in a row. Big congrats to fellow OMS teammates, Caleb Kampf @calebkampf_07 & Jason Obrien @_jasonobrien who also made the finals (top 12) which means 4 athletes out of 12 in the finals all came from Okemo Mountain School. Super proud of Max winning a Silver Medal 🥈at the third stop of the Futures Tour at Northstar California Resort. @northstar_california Max now has a Gold and🥇 a Silver Medal 🥈 from the last 3 Futures Tour comps with one last stop at Mammoth this coming Monday. This tour is to qualify for the REV TOUR next year. To qualify for the Rev Tour, they take your top two finishes from the 4-Futures Tour competitions and then they average them together and the top 6 qualify for the REV Tour. Max didn’t have a good day at Park City, Utah a couple weeks ago and didn’t score any points. Because of this, Max was super nervous and anxious to do well at Northstar. Fortunately, Max put down two great runs in the prelims and finished 2nd in his heat and was seated 3rd going into the finals. In the finals he put down a great first run and was in first place until Owen Bryles @owen_bryles put down a awesome 2nd run towards the end of the competition to take the Gold by 2-points. Max was super stoked to make the podium because he’s now ranked #1 on the Futures Tour with his top 2 finishes being the best so far with only one more competition to go. He knows he’s qualified for the REV Tour no matter how well he does at Mammoth this coming Monday. I don’t usually post about Max cause I’m a private gal. But holy shitski, yesterday was a HUGE day for him.

Max placed 3rd IN THE NATION for Slopestyle at USASA Championships. 🥉🤯

Max has worked & dreamed so damn hard for this. A massive thank you to all the educators, coaches, friends & family who have supported him throughout this wild ride. And to those who dismissed & underestimated him, &/or questioned my parenting decisions - thank you too. It all just fueled his & my 🔥
