Media School alumni and students teamed up to create "Saving Ava," a family-friendly independent film that recently premiered at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Directed by Maximus Peeples, BA’24, with Sumeyye Akgun, BA’24, serving as assistant director, the film brings together Hoosier talent for a Midwest road trip story about friendship, nostalgia, and growing up.

Last year's recap: Celebrated my 2 Year anniversary with my love❤️, saw @officialkaleo live🎸, made another movie🎬, made some new friends🎯, went on some adventures 🎡⛺, adopted another cat😺

• Seeing KALEO live was a dream come true, thanks to my love, Gabriel, who surprised me with tickets for my birthday! They played all my favorite songs (all their songs are my favorite)

• Max dragged me into making another amazing feature film called "Saving Ava" @savingavamovie where I got to work with some really talented people and learn so many new things! Also had my first couple of interviews as an assistant director thanks to @sebastian_penix and @griffin.lee @kollektivestudios

• And lastly, on the night of a cloudy meteor shower, I found a small and skinny, flea and tick ridden tabby cat looking for food. I named him Sozin, after Sozin's comet, as I didn't see a single shooting star that night, only him.
