What an amazing package from New Zealand yesterday! Baked by @globalbaker has been on my wishlist forever and I mentioned how much I love banana when @maxinescheckter posted a recipe using @whittakersnz chocolate. So thoughtful and a much needed pick me up. I hope I can repay the kindness.

This week at Unity: Bookseller Maggie took us international 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Meanwhile in NZ, local authors came in to sign stock.

@asheremanuel signed our stock of The Valley before his author conversation event that evening. The Valley was number 1 on our Unity Top 10 last week!

Highlights from our Unity community: Our very own bookseller and author @daniel_devenney devoured the Heartstopper finale the day it arrived, plus a furry friend delighted and a dramatic amount of stamp cards were brought in by one very loyal customer 💛

Dean Edwards. MasterChef Alumnus, writer of six cookbooks and social media star! Dean makes tasty, simple and delicious look effortless.

Claire Coghill. Chef patron at Café Cuil on the Isle of Skye and cookbook author, Claire uses fresh local produce to create stunning dishes that celebrate Scotland in all its glory.

Jimmy Lee is a Glasgow legend! Regular on This Morning and his own TikTok 60 second recipes, he is also chef patron at his restaurant Lychee Oriental.

Maxine Scheckter is a pastry chef and Pâtissière of incredible talent. She’s worked at Sketch, The Fat Duck, runs an online pastry school and has just written her first book.

Fraser Reid is a best selling author of Seasonal Soups and Seasonal Salads and owns Fraser’s Fruit and Veg in Dundee. He’s all about real food, cooked well with no fuss.

Jeni Ianetta is the owner of Bad Girl Bakery in the Highlands. She has a fabulous cookbook of the same name filled with tasty recipes and also runs a cook school.

Dylan Pinder is head chef at Moss in Edinburgh. A true farm to table ethos, even their menus and crockery are carefully considered with sustainable values at their core.

Amber Rissman is a chef at the prestigious Restaurant Andrew Fairlie in Gleneagles and was Scotland’s Young Chef of the Year in 2025, and she’ll be sharing the dish that got her the title.

Jad Youssef will be sharing the flavours of Lebanon and talking about his new book which celebrates the flavours of the country and his restaurant Lebnani.

Jordan Clark is the head chef at Ballintaggart Farm and The Grantully Hotel. A former Young Chef of the Year, Jordan is inspired by the produce of Scotland and has honed his skills all over the country.

Finlay Wilson is a Yogi who focuses on easy, health-giving and nourishing dishes that complement his practice.

I can’t believe it is finally happening! Tomorrow I head off to Scotland for my UK book tour! (I’m only visiting Scotland but I feel like saying UK makes it sound more impressive 😂). I’m so excited for every single event, and so so so thankful to Nasim and Emily at @kitchenpress for working so hard to organise all of this!

There’s one stop on my UK tour that’s pretty special to me, and it’s this one with Sam at Love To Cook. 8 years ago when I opened Sugar Flour as a Patisserie, I had no idea what I was doing (the arrogance of youth huh!) and on the first day we were in the weeds. I didn’t have nearly enough systems in place to run the front of house smoothly..I didn’t even have somewhere to put the dockets! But like an angel from the heavens Sam stepped in and turned everything around, even coming back the next day with a homemade ticket spike for me, and I’m pretty sure I have a photo somewhere of Sam crouched in the corner polishing cutlery for me.

Sam has since had her own incredible patisserie journey, leading her to open Love To Cook in Crieff - and I’m sure her opening day was a hell of a lot more organised than mine!. So it feels extremely special for Sam to host me for a masterclass, and let me have a little pastry special on the menu, on the 16th of May. Tickets for the masterclass are available through the Love To Cook website
