Hey, nice to see you! Now that we’re halfway thru September, the Sunday night of summer, you may have been thinking to yourself… “are ANY of my friends going to drop some new experimental music to help me transition to fall?” or maybe, “there’s not enough loop-mangling or granular synthesis in my life.” These are normal thoughts.⁣⁣⠀

That’s precisely why today I’m beginning the process of formally releasing a small batch of work under a new artist project called Mild Animal.⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
“Time Folds” is designed for headphones, and can be inside yours right now. Petrichor (EP) available digitally October 24.⁣⁣⠀

Belly Music with @hotelsmotels returns tomorrow Jan 14th at 4pm eastern / 1pm pacific with special guest Blow Shirts.

"Max and I met in Portland at a ticket meet-up for the infamous Limited Edition party in 2016 and have been good friends ever since.

We share a love and nostalgia for early ’90s and 2000s guitar music and often reflect on our own past experiences playing drums in crappy (but important) punk bands.

Max grew up in Northville, Michigan, and later moved to Ann Arbor, where he found his home and community inside local parties at Arbor Vitae, PillowTalk, and Detroit party outfit Haute To Death. He moved to SF in 2021 and, while living there, hosted a monthly radio show on HydeFM. His set on Lower Grand Radio from last year is a prime example of his taste and skill as a selector and a DJ.

I am very excited to host my dear old friend from afar in the studio on the first edition of Belly Music in 2024! "

The studio was warmed and it felt so right. Thank you to my friends around the Bay for joining us in Dec for my open studio & @jenmcp23’s cookie swap, and for those who sent love from afar. Excited to keep building and sharing with you this year. I love it here. 🙏🏻
