Did my best to join in on some big lifting this weekend. The energy was absolutely nutty, the crew, the community… I love this sport so goddamn much. 350 squat, 325x2, lil touch and press with 227.5. Here’s to hoping I can survive next week and touch a bar a few times then we’re on to Westerns!

Okay, I was away over New Year's, and I didn't want to interrupt my trip, but it is now time for the yearly recap.

2022.
Art was pretty good. I did many little paintings and studies; lots of plans towards larger pieces. I didn't get many larger pieces completed, but there are many in varying states, (lots still in pre-production), so hopefully I'll finish a bunch of them this year. I've been studying with @garinbaker and @mastrius.official, and I feel that's been going well. I intend to put more effort into larger work this year; many things I'd like to work on, so maybe some more focus is required.

Climbing was great. I engaged in more focused training with @powercompanyclimbing. I went on several climbing trips, (yes, I had a broken hand for one, but I still matched my hardest grade). I sent my hardest route grade, and generally felt strong and had much success. I climbed with many great people, so much thanks to you all. This year I plan on taking several climbing trips, and hopefully still climbing with cool people.

Short but super fun evening session out at Grotto tonight. Limited time, so we did a couple warm ups, then sussed moves on the amazingly fun "You're Only Cheating Yourself". So cool.

Mosquitos kinda sucked though.

2021.
I did a lot of painting. Mostly small stuff, lots of studies and warm ups. Lots of practice. A couple bigger pieces; multi session projects. Also got a new website and store up and running. I hope to do more in 2022.
I did a lot of climbing. Got out for many morning or evening sessions, both with regular partners and some new cool people. Did much more local bouldering than normal, although still focused on ropes. Mostly did short projects; stuff I could do in a handful of sessions. I hope to do some climbing trips this year, as well as hard hard projects.

Last week our Sport teams participated in a spontaneous "Best Heel Hook" challenge. Each team nominated one athlete to perform a heel hook on camera and submit it to CCC Teams.

Congratulations Hanger Sport 1B team for taking the win with this pristine double whammy heel hook 👊🤩👌👌

And thanks to @flashedclimbing who's giving your team some chalk as a prize!
