Mémoires Carbone : Atramentum

A solo exhibition by @maxpassadore

Exhibition dates
June 26 – July 17, 2026
11am – 7pm
16 boulevard des Invalides, 75007 Paris

RSVP required

Some forms travel through time.
Through a sensitive and experimental photographic practice, Maxime Passadore explores the classical forms and sacred symbols that continue to resonate across centuries. Neo-archaeological fragments, contemporary artefacts, and reimagined relics compose a body of work where past and present converge.
The title Atramentum refers to the carbon-black ink of antiquity, historically associated with writing, the preservation of knowledge, and the transmission of stories. Here, it becomes a material of revelation, absorbing light and directing the gaze toward the image and its evocative power.
At the heart of the exhibition, a series dedicated to the Assyrian Lamassu explores the dialogue between ancient craftsmanship and contemporary creation through photogravure on copper and the transformative effects of oxidation.
With Mémoires Carbone : Atramentum, Maxime Passadore investigates the mystery of sacred figures and the narratives that continue to shape our collective imagination.
It is not the artworks that cross the centuries, but the stories they inspire.

I can only choose to spoil or protect my ears and my eyes. 👂👁️

At the Vatican Pavilion, they said:

“The eye is window of the soul,
The ear is the eye of the soul.”

It took me a while to truly digest those words.

Thank you to the beautiful musicians in my life for protecting not only my ears, but also my soul. 🥹🎶✨

Living in party and study all in one life . Mind and body all need its own dance exercise .

Tune in to right frequency.

Agnus Dei is a collaborative work centered on sacred art and its materiality. The friendship between Axel Bertone and Maxime Passadore predates their artistic collaboration: their installation AGNUS DEI emerged from this close bond.
Together, they share a sensitivity to ritual forms and the symbols of sacred architecture. At the intersection of their respective practices—stone sculpture and photography—and driven by the tension embodied in Pierre Henry’s The Apocalypse of John, the duo explores the symbolic weight of liturgy through a mineral, uncompromisingly radical work.
Balancing heritage gesture and mystical presence, they reclaim matter and light.
