Max and I are engaged 🖤 It was a beautiful surprise (I'm still recovering). Max has been such a kind and patient partner in life, parenting and all the adventures that both bring. I couldn't ask for more, but he wakes up every day with that big smile and loves us better than the day before. We're so lucky he is ours.

Went to Austin, where I testified at yesterday's legislative hearing on the TCEQ's new budget proposal. I spoke against the agency's plans to cut staff as industry continues its rapid expansion in Texas. The agency needs increased funding to keep up with investigations and enforcement and to protect public health.

I also stopped by Austin's KVUE station to chat during their live midday segment about the TCEQ executive director's departure to lead Texas Association of Business, a pro-business, pro-data center lobby. It's yet another turn of the agency's revolving door where regulators leave government roles to advocate for the same industries they once regulated.
