After a 6-week online class, studying Philip Ridley with Theatre Director David Mercatarli through @runatitshouting (brilliant for actors, check them out) , the wonderful @macgechancharlie asked if I was interested in being part of a showcase of never-seen-before Philip Ridley monologues. Needless to say, I jumped at the chance.

The showcase would take place on the last two nights of The Poltergeist, which played at the @arcolatheatre and was produced by @flyingcoloursproductions, which won an Offie for Best Solo Performance.

When the play ended, six different actors would take to the stage each night and perform monologues Philip had written specially for them.

I was filming season 5 of The Inside Man when I found out. I wrapped on that, and then went straight onto working on this. What a dream!

We had two days of rehearsals as a whole group, with both Philip Ridley and @maxrharrison from @lidlesstheatre (watch anything they make because its ALWAYS incredible!), then we were performing.

My monologue was the last one of the whole showcase, and backstage i was terrified. Literally trembling. I hadn't acted on stage for a long time, and that made my nerves double. And the opportunity, the writing, the lights, the audience - I wanted to get everything right.

When I got out there, I absolutely loved it! I felt so alive and so in the moment. I didn’t want it to end!

And that's how I met my lovely agent @emma33agent.

Thank you @runatitshouting for trusting me and giving me the opportunity. You're so supportive of your acting community, and that's exactly what our community needs.

Today from 4pm on @resonancefm, @mcarthur.tim @nathanmatthews chat to Will Robinson & Ned Costello from THE PITCHFORK DISNEY at the @kingsheadtheatre!🪳

Darkly comic and deeply unsettling, Philip Ridley’s seminal masterpiece played a revolutionary role in changing the face of British theatre. Its exploration of ‘a climate of fear’, living in ‘alternate worlds’, and persistent thrum of sexual anxiety has continued to act as a tuning fork for the zeitgeist. It is a play whose relevance is forever in the now.

“A fearless masterpiece” @theatre_weekly
“Crackles with emotional tension and twisted humour” @thespyinthestalls
“A remarkable revival that cries out to be experienced” @broadwayworlduk
“A thrilling, thought-provoking production” @atdazzles
