POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

3 years of coming together, organising and building community power.

These are some of the people and moments that have shaped Power to Prosper. People working for a future where their communities have the ownership, resources and opportunities to thrive.

As Phase 1 closes and Phase 2 begins, thank you to everyone who has helped bring us this far.

In Programme Director Erel’s words: “They ain’t seen nothing yet.”

A big thank you to everyone who has been part of Power to Prosper’s first phase.

To the people in our hubs, the organisers, partners, researchers, funders and community members who have given their time, knowledge and energy: you’ve shaped this work from the start.

We’re proud of what we’ve built together and excited for what comes next.

🌞🎭 As Our Summer Culture Programme Comes to an End… 🎭🌞

We joined in to celebrating 45 years of Loughborough Community Centre! 🎉

It is always a joy to work with Candice and the team at Max Roach Children’s Centre, our long-time partners in community delivery. Saturday was another showstopper! 💜 and the lovely MALA ❤️🙏🏽❤️

Together, we created one of our Sailor Mas posters, sharing the joy, creativity and richness of Carnival culture with our local community.

It was a wonderful day filled with families, community, creativity and conversation — including Lambeth Mayor Paul, who joined in and contributed to the artwork.

And a special mention to Helen — an amazing woman who continues to support her community. Always a joy to see you, Helen! 💜

We also had a lovely conversation with Tony Cealy about present-day culture and the importance of keeping our cultural stories alive.

This is what C2DC — Culture 2 De Community is all about: bringing culture into the community, creating together and making space for people to connect.

Celebrating 45th years of Loughborough Community Centre at Brixton’s Max Roach Centre! Last Saturday we celebrated with live music, BBQ, wellbeing and art activities. @art4spacecommunity designed a wonderful mosaic mural to commemorate this milestone anniversary which will be installed this month @maxroachlcc Throughout the summer holidays, the children got involved in the making, so their own piece of art has become part of it.
On Saturday they made their own small mosaics at the event to take home.

Community is everything 🌱

So far, we’ve hosted seven free baking workshops this summer. This one was at the brilliant @maxroachlcc in Brixton.

Skills we’re learnt, smarties we’re consumed and the finished cookies we’re shared out. 😋
In conjunction with @mayorsfundforlondon we can plan, organise and fund all these workshops ourselves and every bake you buy from us contributes to our community events so thank you!
