i feel honored to have gone back to etiwanda yesterday to not only visit, but get to sing the national anthem and my original song, SOAR, for their SOAR rally! the day was a blast filled with full circle moments—singing the national anthem in a place where i learned to sing in front of 3,500 people for so many events, being announced as kaity b in the place where my stage name was born and adopted by all my peers and faculty, and getting to talk with the chamber singers about pursuing a career as a musician and artist in the same room i dreamed of doing what i get to do now. the day brought back all the memories of being in ASB, choir, and hanging with the Fab 5 (showing up in our 55% fashion) who are some of the best people ever that i’m so blessed to call you some of my best friends! God has a very cool way of showing me how far i’ve walked and the experiences i had in high school that have made me so prepared for everything i do now. i walked into yesterday thinking that my ministry would just be in what i sang, but i got to connect with students who have similar dreams to mine, listen to their goals and hearts, and encourage them to run toward them. it something that i didn’t expect to do yesterday, but my heart is full from our conversations. i’m forever grateful for the home and community i have at the E! eagle pride 🦅

thank you @etiwanda_activities for inviting me back and welcoming me! ❤️🖤💛

I founded Wild Garden Film Festival just last year to show art me and my friends made. That first event had maybe 6 films and 70 people in the audience. I remember feeling a little embarrassed about how sparse the auditorium looked. But as I settled in that evening, I realized that the gift of a modest turnout is how intimate the space becomes. For two hours, all 70 of us were bonded in a way I still struggle to articulate. And that was the beauty of Wild Garden Film Festival 2024.

Last night, I hosted Wild Garden Film Festival 2025. This time, it was a 5 hour bracket with 15 films, 12 physical artworks, and live music by the GRiMACE Jazz Collective. 221 people came and, with such a large turnout, I worried the event might lose that intimate feeling which made it so special in the first place. But, despite the massive audience, the energy remained just as intimate (if not more). And in that intimacy, I found community and I felt love. I realize now that this feeling has nothing to do with the size of the audience, but rather it is a testament to the love, safety, and vulnerability Wild Garden Film Festival inspires. I am filled with gratitude and pride to have built an event that draws in such a beautiful, vulnerable, sensitive amalgamate of human beings.

Thank you to all the filmmakers, all the artists, and everyone else who came to the event - I hope you felt the love.

i cannot express in words how many times i have thanked God for this year of immense growth, where He’s put me, where i am now, and the beautiful people He has surrounded me with. i’ve experienced love and care like i’ve never known before and i can’t express enough how grateful i am for all the pain, suffering, joy, laughs, cries, challenges, ALL THE THINGS! insta was being mean to me, so not all the pictures i wanted to post are here, but if you’re in my life, i love you much :) and for the first time in a long time, i can say that i am a happy bean :) happy new year 🤍
