I made my own watercolor paints!!!

Lucky enough to get to take a paint making class yesterday, where we mixed our own combinations of dry pigments to create custom colors, added the liquid binders, used the glass smooshy thing (a muller) to grind and mix them smooth, and put them in watercolor pans with magnets on the bottom to create this perfect little travel palette.

Obviously, I immediately needed to test it out, so I took it on its inaugural outing to the skate park while my kiddos played. I might have almost frozen, but the paint worked perfectly!

(PS the paints need a few days to dry so they don't spill out everywhere, but I was too excited and I just made sure to carry it flat 😀)

Thanks @maxt.makerspace for always having classes I want to take!

Middle School Clay with Cassidy Kehlenbach

Session 1: Wednesdays, 4-5:45pm, September 23rd-October 14th

Session 2: Wednesdays, 4-5:45pm, October 28th-November 18th

4 weeks, 7 hours / $50, financial assistance available!

Students in grades 5-8 can join us for our kid-centric class, expanding on skills they may have learned at school, or getting the chance to play with clay for the first time!

This fall, we will create small sculptures, planters, and/or personalized signs, building fundamental skills while making fun and functional ceramics. If time allows, students will have the opportunity to try the potter’s wheel at the end of class.

Working together in a safe and welcoming environment, instructors will introduce good habits with clay, and inspire students to continue on in their own creative endeavors.

No experience necessary; can be repeated.
