oh hey i have a song coming out MAY 16TH and I can’t wait for you to hear it 🇩🇴

It’s about my family’s journey emigrating from the Dominican Republic to the U.S. and the struggles they faced when assimilating to the restrictive customs of the new world. Nuevo Mundo tells a story of their pursuit of the American dream, and what was lost, forgotten, and remembered in the process. Amidst today’s ICE arrests and deportations of families who were just like mine, families that came to this country in search of a better life, this is more than just a song.

From Santo Domingo to the Bronx, NY, abuelita, this is for you❤️

PRESAVE THE SONG ‼️🎧 (link in bio:))

A&R by none other than @maxxshearod

This past week, Yale alum Enoch O. (Woody) Woodhouse II ‘52 who is the last living member of the Tuskegee Airmen came to speak at the @yaleafamhouse
Since our organization did not exist during his time as a student, we were thrilled for the opportunity to have our co-president @maxxshearod present him with a certificate of membership of the Yale Black Men’s Union!

Thank you to @livinglegendsfoundation for having me at their 2023 LLF Gala!

CC:
Hey y’all,

My name is Maxx Shearod, and I want to talk about my experience last weekend as a Living Legends Foundation Scholar. I had the wonderful opportunity to attend this year’s Gala, and I had my first red carpet experience, getting the chance to interview with different news outlets. The gala itself was phenomenal and a real who’s who of the music industry. We heard from the chairman of the Living Legends Board David Linton, who’s been an inspiration to me my whole life.

I got to meet LA Reid, an industry legend, as well as reconnect with the CEO of Sony Music Publishing, Jon Platt, who i first met during my internship with the company this past summer.

I also got to celebrate another old boss and living legend, Shanti Das from Silence the Shame, who received the A.D. Washington Chairman’s Award. I was also lucky to have the opportunity to shadow DJ Battlecat.

I want to thank the Living Legends Foundation both for the scholarship and the amazing opportunities that the organization has opened up for me. I’m eternally grateful, and I hope to see y’all next year!
