Four years. One dream. A life transformed.

Aditya Gupta @laidback.adi arrived in the U.S. from India on a visitor’s visa in 2022 with one goal: to become a filmmaker.

He walked into our production office at @may3rdfilms and @cameralightsgrip seeking an opportunity—no connections, no guarantees, just a willingness to learn.

Starting as an intern, he earned every step, rising to operate cameras on professional productions. Along the way, he received a full scholarship to Howard University, earning his Master’s degree in Film and Television Production.

Since then, he’s produced a @cocacola Coca-Cola commercial, worked on multiple documentaries, motion pictures, and now gives back as an associate professor at Howard University, shaping the next generation of storytellers.

His journey proves talent opens doors, but humility, hard work, and persistence keep them open.

We’re proud to have played a small part in his story.
