home.office.02 is open for a second weekend. we are so grateful to @lovittnyc for sharing their space.

some artists had to return north, but we have lots left to see, some new additions, and the tea is flowing.

home.office.02 is part exhibition, event, and meshwork, curated by ondrea wheeler. gathering together designers and artists whose work is grounded in close attention to our relationships with home. our conversations, installations, and offerings will reflect on home as a space of lively convergence: material and hand, scent and energy, story and texture and mineral and chance.

like mushrooms and trees, humans expand our networks beyond physical borders. driven to grow and connect, drawn to places that hold memory and opportunity to expand our understanding of ourselves and how we live.

inspired by a space that is both studio and storefront - where process is on display, this second cohort of home.office explores transparency. looking to the often unseen qualities of objects which hold the charge of the hands that made them, their place of creation, and their individual and collective histories.

NOTES TOWARD AN EROTICS OF ART III

This may be the most literal form of edging: spending our lives moving toward ends that are simultaneously material, emotional and imagined.

We work toward the end of the month so we can be paid. We make art because we want to reach the thing that exists vaguely ahead of us before we have made it.

Understanding closes things. It gives an experience a border. It makes it possible to file away.
The wind has never heard my name, and I find that strangely comforting. A world that does not require my interpretation in order to continue existing is liberating.
I am learning that this does not make life smaller. It might be the thing that makes it possible to feel it.
This selection is, in its own way, an attempt to stay near that edge.

MAY is a design studio based between New York and Toronto.

Peep this incense holder. A simple idea: a group carrying a burning stick of incense. Functional. Sculptural. Memorable.
