Home, in Arabic, was never just one word to us.

When we started building YUNG’s anniversary issue, we kept coming back to four words: Bayt, Dar, Watan, and Manzil. Each one carries a different feeling of home, emotionally, physically, and personally.

From there, every cover started building its own visual world through memories, objects, references, spaces, and emotions tied to belonging and identity.

This post is a glimpse into that process, the ideas, moodboards, and creative direction that shaped the issue from the very beginning.

Our team comes from different parts of the world, but the question remains the same: what is home?

Each member of YUNG shares a personal image, a moment, a place, or a feeling that defines home to them. Not as a fixed idea, but as something lived, carried, and remembered differently by each of us.

Across cities, cultures, and distances, home takes many forms. Sometimes it’s a place.
Sometimes it’s people.
Sometimes it’s simply a feeling we hold onto.
