Oh I love a woodland search. Uneven ground, roots and natural obstacles encourage the dogs to slow down, think about their foot placement and organise their bodies while working odour.

Lovely to watch dogs problem-solve independently and grow in confidence as the searches progress 🌿🐾

It’s always a treat to search Hill Street Community Centre. At our last pop-up I worked with a really wide range of teams, from first-time pop-ups right through to competition dogs, with each session adapted to suit the individual team.

We focused on clearing areas, with handlers thinking carefully about their dogs’ strengths and weaknesses, and making sure they considered and covered those easy-to-miss hide placements.

Such a fun session, with lots of learning for everyone 🐾

We were back at the beautiful Wolfhampcote Church… Eight teams joined me throughout the morning, all at different stages of their detection journey.

For my newer teams, it was one of their first pop-up sessions. The goal was simple: could they work confidently in a completely new environment? And they absolutely could! There was some brilliant searching going on 👏🏻

My more experienced teams were given the challenge of clearing the entire church. They had to divide the search area and work methodically through the space, ensuring no hides were missed. It was a fantastic way to put all the skills they’ve been developing into practice - they did a fabulous job ✨

It was a tad blustery out this morning! 💨

Today’s teams got to experience firsthand how the wind can disrupt a trail - giving our experienced handlers the perfect opportunity to really read their dogs and see how they adapt to more challenging conditions.

Bring it on! Love Maggie 🥰

Thank you to absolutely everyone who made recommendations 😇☺️

My mummy eventually picked this one that was recommended by @xaviandthepack ☺️

Urban trailing really gets the teams thinking. The busy environment and large open spaces made for some interesting trails. They absolutely smashed it 👏🏻

It was great to watch the handlers read their dogs, noticing many changes in body language both on and off the trail. It was a fantastic learning opportunity for everyone involved 🤓

The sun was shining for our teams on Saturday morning ☀️

5 teams joined me for some Semi-Urban trails around Middlemore Farm in Daventry. It’s such a fantastic area to put their teamwork to the test as they navigated multiple junctions, road crossings and a variety of terrains (and many distractions! 🐶).

Brrr it was a chilly start Sunday morning. The blustery winds made for some rather challenging trails 💨

The teams had to work so hard, even more so because I added a few sneaky back tracks into their trails - as predicted they absolutely smashed it! 👏🏻

I was feeling pretty chuffed with my #toebeansonatreetuesday effort this week to be honest and then my Mum blummin’ pointed out that I looked like a circus hefflump 🎪🐘 and completely ruined it! 😤 At least I THINK that’s what she said - it was pretty hard to make out as she was literally dislocating her jaw to eat a packet of biscuits whole at the time - which she struggled to do as the ground she was standing on was VERY SHAKY indeed 😒

Anyway my confidence in my tiny tree-bound tootsies returned when I realised with much excitement that I’m basically twinning (on an admittedly smaller scale) with Magnificent Maya @maya_colliex21 this week, who is not only the queen of hearts but also good taste and toebeans! I have therefore put my Momager’s bitter little comment in a bucket with all the rest.

I am still undecided as to whether I should carry them into the garden later, douse then with lighter fuel and burn them OR keep them and file them as evidence that she is a know-nothing nincompoop. Decisions, decisions…
