This is an art project I made as part of my first and last semester at Parsons Paris. I think that, in order for us to enjoy food like prosciutto, foie gras, and delicious steak, we have to ignore or at least partially blind ourselves to how gross the meat industry is. If you watch a documentary like Food Inc. or whatever, chances are you'll be eating asparagus for the next few weeks. I decided to show that psychological phenomenon in a very literally and absurd way by making masks and other kind of sense-blinding objects with meat product, and then ask friends at Parsons to put those gross things on their faces. Fun! These friends are @maya_r_ramirez @ifeelhappy @e.v.loution @lovelywaytogo they're amazing models and humans. Full disclosure I'm not a vegan nor probably ever will be - I'm one of those people that purposefully avoids confronting the dirty realities of the food industry because I love foie gras and chicken nuggets. Does that make me a hypocrite? Should I get on a vegan diet? Is everything fucked so there's no use doing anything really? Please comment below!
