One of my favorite stories from my book is the “Rosh Hashana Story”, and it’s the one which gets the most reactions from people. A lot of people tell me they relate to it.. I don’t wanna ruin it for you if you didn’t get a chance to read my book, but in a nutshell, it’s the story of how after my first few months in LA, I forgot all about Rosh Hashanah… It was a devastating moment for me, a moment which sent me on a journey which led me to today. After that incident, I committed myself to dive into what it means to be Jewish, and I found the most extraordinary things which I have incorporated into my life on a regular basis. Since that particular moment, I have turned into what my friends started calling Rebbetzin Tishby and have hosted every holiday in my house since. It’s not easy being away from my family, but Ari and I are blessed to have my nephew and his girlfriend in Los Angeles as our immediate family, and a huge group of friends who are our chosen family. We have been celebrating the holidays together for years and I was blessed to be able to host everyone again this year. It is such an honor, and honestly, the most fun ever.
I wish everyone fresh new beginnings, love, light, health, and prosperity. And may all your wishes come true for the better. Shanna tova!!!!

‎‏בחודשים הראשונים כשרק שעברתי ללוס-אנג׳לס קרה ‏לי אירוע מכונן. בפעם הראשונה והיחידה בחיי שכחתי את ראש השנה… האירוע הספציפי הזה זיעזע אותי עמוקות ושלח אותי למסע שהוביל אותי ‏למי שאני היום. האירוע הזה גרם לי לחקור לעומק מה זה אומר להיות יהודיה אם אני לא גרה בישראל, ולמצוא בשביל עצמי את המשמעויות העמוקות והעתיקות בדת במסורת ובתרבות שלנו. באותו הרגע הפכתי להיות מה שחברי התחילו לכנות ״הרבנית תשבי״ וערכתי את כל החגים אצלי מאז ועד היום תודה לאל :) זה קשה מאוד להיות רחוק מהמשפחה אבל למזלנו יש לנו פה את גיא האחיין שלי וזוגתו המהממת אביגיל וקבוצה גדולה של חברים קרובים שעושים איתנו את החג כבר שנים. הילדים נולדו וגדלו יחד וזה ממש סוג של קיבוץ קטן רחוק מהבית וקרוב ללב. אני ברת מזל שיש לי את האנשים האלו בחיים ומודה לאלוהים יום יום. מאחלת לכולנו שנה טובה, שנת פריצות דרך וקבלה בריאות שגשוג ושלום פנימי וחיצוני. אור ואהבה לכולם ♥️
