What an incredible summer hosting this amazing group of interns at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in the Deep Space Logistics Team! They brought fresh ideas, worked hard, and accomplished some truly impressive things. I’m proud to have worked alongside them and excited to see where their journeys take them next. #nasa #deepspacelogistics #ostem #intern

Ad Astra, interns—keep shooting for the stars! 🚀🌟

The last few months of training have been… a ride. A difficult one, to say the least. What’s wild is that in the beginning, even with a boot on my foot, I never fully registered that I’d have to pause some of my goals. My brain just stayed in “go mode” like I was still training for something, still chasing something. Looking back now, it feels a little silly considering how severe the injury was. But I think that’s just the headspace I was in when I got hurt, and it took until recently, when the boot came off and the restrictions lifted, for it to really hit me.

Recovery hasn’t just been about waiting. It’s been a process of rebuilding, re-centering, and learning patience with myself. It’s been a lot of maintenance, PT, and re-learning how to move. Not just at a high level, but at a basic one. That part’s been humbling. It’s also been frustrating. Sad at times. Especially because I worked so hard all winter for goals I may have to push further down the line.

But through all of it — the ups, the downs, the in-between days — it’s been my friends who kept me going. The support, the encouragement, the silly jokes when I needed them most. That kind of energy changes everything. It makes the hard days feel lighter. It reminds me that I’m still moving forward.

I’m close to being ready to challenge myself climbing again. But I’m also still working to get my full range, strength, and flow back. Still, I’m grateful for the people around me, for the progress I have made, and for the fire that’s still lit.

Thank you to everyone who’s helped me keep smiling through it 😁
