Before we put ink to skin I was thinking about what this tattoo meant to me & what getting it would initiate me into…it felt like sacred memorabilia that would be adorned on me permanently…made with beads collected over many moments..taking many lifetimes to be created & then have their place on my body… the way my body is also just a collection of generations of energy & earthly material.. I also thought about the version of me that would wear this piece… the one that walks between worlds & holds sacred space yet is still so apart of this one… how it would immediately express this part of me that is so subversively sovereign… then I heard this song (Crown Jewel by @eartheater )& it wasn’t just in my own heart anymore but this magnitude of the accumulation & transformation of energy through time on Earth & it becoming more and more beautiful was being reflected back to me musically….it was so beautiful to witness this same current then also in the forest by where we tattooed where there were wild fox gloves (mentioned in the song) (& fav flower) a field of them!!!!!! & the discovery of this uniquely colored rose (“put your spikes on like a rose”) just moments before we started that I’ve been seeing in meditations everyday for a few days prior…

I could go on & on about how special this moment was for me in this meeting of soft strength that the rose teaches us while getting tattooed & slowing my body down…practicing holding both energies simultaneously & the way it's in essence of the tattoo design itself, how it feels ancestral & devotional yet lived, how it so beautifully adorns my center of power (solar plexus) & creation/ ancestry space (womb) !!!!!!!!!!! but I’ll leave the magic here for now…. 🥀

Thankyou so much @maybematea For etching the script to skin and creating something that can be read far before, between & beyond words that encompasses all of this!!! So grateful for your art & 18+ hrs of devotion!!! ⛓️‍💥

More of the final result coming soon!!
