Flying Teslas are wild. Your parking shouldn’t be. 👀🚗

Through a new partnership between Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), Park Rangers have received letters of appointment from the Colorado Springs Police Chief, authorizing them to issue parking citations across the regional park system.

Why does this matter? Improper parking can block emergency access, limit accessibility and damage the natural areas we all love.

Here’s how you can help:
🅿️ Park in designated spaces
🚒 Keep gates and emergency access routes clear
♿ Use accessible parking spaces only with valid credentials
🌿 Keep vehicles off curbs and natural areas

We’ll begin with an education period to help visitors understand the rules before full enforcement is implemented later this fall.

We’re proud to partner with CSPD to help keep our parks safe, accessible and enjoyable for everyone. 💚 #COSParks

We need to stop relying on the government circus for a better world; we need to create it ourselves.

If they were truly a government for the people by the people they'd do a lot more vulnerable open campaigning, intermingling with the local communities

1. So they can learn about the community's wants/needs.

2. So the community can learn about who the candidate is as a person, on a deep interpersonal level.

Such as @mayorofcos did by showing up to @outloudcsmc's 20th anniversary concert.

What can you do in your power other than vote to create a better world?

- Carpool, use public transportation, bike, decrease fueling of the defueling(Oil) industry. Don't drive alone if you can help it.

- Fund public lands ourselves, we want to keep public lands public? We have to stop fueling big corporations with our money, our attention, and instead visit the lands, donate to them, support advocates such as @pattiegonia, @robertirwinphotography , and @unc.pappy, and learn from our indigenous communities. Please share other ideas/ tag advocates below!

- Share wisdom and be open to learning, keep open hearts and minds.

- Shop LOCAL for food, clothing, medicine, art, and more. Defund places like Walmart, Target, Hobby Lobby, Starbucks, Fast Food, etc. Shop at local places like @whogivesascrap,@blessingsbeebzzaar, food to power, mom and pop shops/restaurants. If you have more local places you enjoy supporting please drop em in the comments.

- Have fun! A weird one I know. Dance, sing, laugh, create, play, and IMAGINE. Embody your humanity to the fullest! This is how you find your community, this is how you build a world full of love and laughter.

Voting isn't the only way to make change in the world, open your eyes, take action! It's going to be messy and imperfect. You aren't going to do everything 100% right, but move forward with the intention of creating a more loving, compassionate world, and you'll begin to notice the shift. We can't do this alone, we can however do this as a community. Cheers🍻

10 years ago, I met then Governor John Hickenlooper on Top Chef Colorado. This week, Senator Hickenlooper handed me my accolade as a graduate of the Colorado Governor’s Fellowship. Crazy how things come full circle. When I was approached about stepping into public office, I wasn’t sure what that looked like for me. I sat down with Mayor Yemi Mobolade, who encouraged me to pursue this fellowship and expand my understanding of civic leadership across the state. A year later, after traveling from Trinidad to Durango, Craig to Fort Collins, I’ve learned just how important it is to understand what communities are actually facing before making decisions that impact them. My biggest takeaway? Curiosity creates space for bipartisanship. We need more listening and less assuming we know what’s best for everyone. I’m still not sure public office is my path, but I feel a lot more confident using my voice to advocate for our communities. Grateful for the people, the perspective, and the opportunity to keep growing in how I serve Colorado.

Shoutout to the @coschamberedc ! I left this morning’s breakfast feeling energized, inspired, and more optimistic than ever about our city’s future.

There’s something powerful about being in a room full of people who aren’t just imagining what Colorado Springs could be, but actively working to make it happen. We have real challenges ahead, but I believe our best days are still to come. That takes vision, collaboration, persistence, and people willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work.💪🏼⛰️

A special thank you to Johnna Reeder Kleymeyer and her team for championing our business community, advancing economic development, and bringing leaders together around a shared vision for our region. And thank you to Mayor Yemi Mobolade and the many public, private, and community leaders helping turn that vision into reality.

I’m proud to be at the table alongside our dedicated boards and the incredible Downtown Partnership team, whose leadership, expertise, and hard work are helping build a stronger Downtown and a stronger Colorado Springs for generations to come.

I’m grateful to be part of the work ahead. 🚀

Some of my favorite event photos usually aren’t the ones everybody knew were going to happen.

It’s the laugh across the table. Somebody seeing an old friend. The reaction happening just outside the spotlight.

Those little moments tell me just as much about the night as the big ones do.

Heyoooo! @bluevine has announced Colorado Springs is the #1 city in America to start a small business, and we get to call it HOME. 👏🏼

When Mayor Yemi Mobolade shared the news this morning, we were honored to stand alongside him and tell the Kinship Landing story.

Kinship Landing was built by ordinary people with a big dream, surrounded by a community who believed in us. Lenders who took a chance, local partners who opened doors, mentors who answered late-night calls, investors who were generous, and neighbors who cheered us on long before our doors opened.

That’s what this ranking really measures; the deep web of relationships and infrastructure that makes it possible for a dream to become a place where people gather, rest, and belong.

To everyone who believed in us along the way: this recognition is yours, too. Congrats, Colorado Springs!

🌄 Today, the City of Colorado Springs proudly recognizes Indigenous Peoples Day. We honor the powerful legacy and enduring presence of Native American tribes in the Pikes Peak Region. From the Ute, Kiowa, Apache, Comanche, Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes to many more, their deep-rooted connections to this land span thousands of years.

Our Department regularly consults with tribal representatives to help guide our work across parks, open spaces, cultural sites, programs and more, ensuring Indigenous histories, cultures and stories are represented accurately and respectfully.

Join us in recognizing the enduring contributions, stories and stewardship of Indigenous peoples in our community. #COSParks #IndigenousPeoplesDay
