MBCC (Multicultural Business and Community Champion) Awards celebrates inspirational unsung heroes and champions diversity

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🏆✨ FROM SEN MOM TO AWARD FINALIST! ✨🏆

Sometimes I sit back and reflect on my journey, and I honestly wonder how I've managed to keep going through it all❣️

Being a single mom raising three neurodivergent sons has been one of the most rewarding, yet challenging journeys of my life✨️💯

There have been tears behind closed doors, sleepless nights, endless appointments, battles with professionals, and times when I've felt completely exhausted and unheard.

But there has also been unconditional love, laughter, determination and a strength I never knew I possessed. 💕

I never set out to become an author. I simply had a story to tell.

That story became my book, SEN SUPER MOM: Not All Heroes Wear Capes. 📖

A book born from lived experiences, written from the heart, and created with the hope that another SEN parent might read my words and realise they are not alone.

And now, here I am… 🥹

One of just TEN finalists for Inspirational Author of the Year at the MBCC Awards 2026! 🏆✨

For someone who has faced her own challenges, including dyslexia, this recognition means more than I can put into words.

I don't know whether I'll walk away with an award on 28th November, but I do know that I've already achieved something I once never imagined possible.

To every parent fighting battles the world doesn't see, please remember:

Your voice matters. Your story matters. And your journey deserves to be heard✨️💯❣️

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, purchased my book or simply believed in me.

Not all heroes wear capes… some are simply called MOM.🦸🏾‍♀️💕

✨ WE’RE FINALISTS! ✨

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Giraffe Dance has been named a finalist in the Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion category at the @mbccawards_ 🦒🧡

At giraffe dance, inclusion isn’t an add on. It’s at the heart of everything we do. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, creativity and connection that dance can bring 👐🏼

To be recognised for breaking down barriers, widening participation and championing equality and inclusion means so much to us. We’re incredibly proud of our dancers, families, schools, partners and everyone who helps make our giraffe community what it is 😌

Whatever happens next, we’re celebrating this one! 🥳💃

I’ve always said life is too short to sit at home moaning about things that are in your own control.

I’m the sort of person who loves being around people. Networking. Being in rooms with individuals who have that same mindset of actually doing something and breaking barriers for themselves.

Being in a room full of goal getters is empowering in itself.

Huge respect to @zoe_bennett_motivational_queen and her team at the @mbccawards_ for the pre-organisation of the awards, and for giving us all the chance to get to know each other properly.

Met some brilliant people. Onwards and forwards 💯

Straight off the plane from Jamaica 🇯🇲and into a suit, I had the honour of hosting the pre-launch of the @mbccawards_ Awards 2026 🇬🇧 (Greatful for traveling mercies).

What an outstanding evening.

Hosted at Deloitte, the event brought together an exceptional mix of business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and community champions from across Birmingham and the West Midlands. The room was filled with energy, ambition and a shared commitment to strengthening connections, creating opportunities and celebrating excellence. Was also great to see friends @shantaniabeckford @tamikamartinofficial @tamikamartinandfriends

It was a pleasure to see Dame Beverly Lindsay DBE ODL alongside the Mayor of the West Midlands, together with many influential figures from across the public, private and third sectors. The quality of conversation, collaboration and networking throughout the evening demonstrated the strength and diversity of our region’s business community.

Special recognition must go to @zoe_bennett_motivational_queen, whose dedication and vision continue to build upon a remarkable legacy. With more than 450 guests attending each year, the MBCC Awards has become a flagship event that recognises achievement, inspires future leaders and showcases the very best of Birmingham and the wider UK.

If the pre-launch event was any indication, the MBCC Awards 2026 in November promises to be a truly memorable occasion it will be hosted by @1judilove & my fellow brother #MOP @theojohnsonuk @bbc1xtra

If you haven’t secured your tickets yet, now is the time. Better still, reserve a table and join us for an evening of celebration, connection and opportunity while supporting two worthy charities.

See you in November. Let’s Go!

Last night’s @mbccawards_ Pre-Awards at @deloitte Birmingham was one of those evenings that reminds you of the value of being in the right room.

@_culture_deluxe_ has been selected as a finalist for Business of the Year at the inaugural MBCC Awards, so it was great to be there ahead of the main ceremony in November hosted by the wonderful @1judilove heart. ❤️

There certainly was a room full of movers and shakers, and it was lovely to meet people, catch up with familiar faces and have conversations that could lead to exciting opportunities.

It was also great to catch up with @dr.natpeat and spend the evening among other inspiring people.

A big thank you to @zoe_bennett_motivational_queen for the fantastic opportunity. We appreciate you and all you do across the board!

Now we wait and see where some of those connections lead.

It was a great evening, and we can't wait to see what comes from it.

If you’d like to join us on our table at the main awards ceremony in November, tickets are available here:
