Blue Mug and Two Duck Eggs
Maggie Brown

We're delighted to have some select pieces by Maggie Brown in our current exhibition.

Based in West Wales, Maggie Brown is essentially a landscape painter, but sometimes likes to challenge herself with a new subject matter.

With the same energy that she applies to her landscape paintings, she paints and draws with acrylics and oil pastels on top of the already prepared, dried, textured surface, which is a mixture of sand, shavings and glue.

'HOME FRONT' runs until 19th September.

** EXHIBITION NEWS ** . It's all change next week with a new exhibition opening on Thursday 13th August.

In 'Home Front' four artists celebrate the domestic and the beauty of the world in our homes and gardens.

We will be welcoming @clareflinnartist and @annaclark.wirral back to the gallery. Both have been working on new collections which we're excited to be showing in this exhibition.

We're also delighted to be showing selected pieces by @pete.monaghanartist and Maggie Brown.

Private view is next Thursday between 6 and 8pm and we'd love you to join us to celebrate the opening

Two of Wales’ leading artists have come together to form a special exhibition of new works which aim to document the beauty and abundance of life that can be supported by sustainable farming practices.

Focusing on one farm – Swmbarch Farm in Pembrokeshire – as their inspiration, painters Pete Monaghan and Maggie Brown bring together their moving social commentary in Fferm at The Gallery/Yr Oriel, Newport, Pembrokeshire from 29 May – 13 June 2026.

Restless Sky- A small work on paper, 20x20 cm, painted from sketches I made on the coast during a fantastic unforgettable workshop with Maggie Brown @mbrmaggie a few months ago. The day was windy and unsettled, filled with our exciting experiments both outdoors and back in the studio. SOLD

My studio is still open this week every day until Sunday evening, from 10am to 5pm - everyone is warmly welcome to visit

I’ve just delivered my work to @found.gallery in Brecon. It will be lovely to meet some of you, if you can join us for the opening on Wednesday evening 6-8pm. Second image shows a close-up of a few of my pieces on show - (wheel-thrown, stoneware ceramics decorated with layers of vitreous slips in subtle colours). The spectacular scenery of the Marches area has led me to develop these new colours. The exhibition continues until 6th September.
