I’m learning to appreciate the baby steps. 🤍

Today, I put up the first banner I’ve ever made for my business, right at the gate of my house, and honestly, I’m just grateful.

This is day 6 of showing up, but this isn’t the official Day 6 update for my debt repayment series. This is just me taking another small step towards getting @mbt_designs seen by more people.

I’ve spent the last four years in school studying Clothing and Textiles, learning garment construction, textile production and so much more. Now that I’m finally a graduate, I’m excited to actually put all of that knowledge to work.

And honestly, if I get the opportunity to further my education and expand my knowledge, especially in sewing and garment construction, I absolutely would. There’s still so much I want to learn.

But for now, I’m starting from where I am.

One banner.
One post.
One inquiry.
One customer.
One garment at a time.

I’m trusting God with these little beginnings and praying that these small steps eventually become something much bigger than I imagined.

So if you see this banner when you pass my house, just know that a small business owner is trying. 😂

I’m putting myself out there, praying for visibility, praying for the right people to find me, and trusting God to bless the works of my hands.

Thank you, Jesus, for how far I’ve come. 🤍

Exactly one week ago, an amazing stranger from the internet changed my business in the most beautiful way.

I’m still in shock.

People are kind. Truly kind.

I cannot publicly tag the person who blessed me, because they specifically asked to keep their identity private, and I deeply respect that.

So this is my public gratitude anyway.

Thank you for believing in someone you had never met. Thank you for investing in my dream. Thank you for putting a permanent smile on my face.

It’s been one whole week, and I still catch myself looking at my new industrial machine and smiling.

Some acts of kindness stay with you forever. This is one of them.

Looking up to the hills where my help comes from… my help comes from the Lord

Only God could have brought me this far. This birthday feels different, deeper, and so emotional for me. In the same month I bagged my BSc, I’m also stepping into a new age carrying stories only God truly understands.

This year came with exams, practicals, debts, doubts, fears, stress, anxiety… so much at once. There were moments I felt tired, overwhelmed, and unsure, but somehow, I’m still here. Still standing. Still smiling.

And for that, I will celebrate myself loudly today. Because if I don’t, who will?

It may be “just a birthday” to some people, but to me, it’s proof that I survived, grew, achieved, and crossed into a new season. I believe things will only get better from here.

My course said “whether you like it or not, you MUST be an artist” 😭😂
Imagine being in a science-based university and still pulling off pro-looking drawings 😭✍🏽
This week alone I drew croquis, geometric mannequins, illusion doodles, full figures AND even extracted a motifssss for textile production.

Is it stressful? Absolutely yes.

Do I still love Clothing & Textile? 100% 🥹

What started as a childhood annoyance with tailors has grown into a passion, a survival need, a skill, and now a dream I’m building daily.

This skill has sustained me, taken me back to school, and helped me find purpose in creativity. I’m now in my final year studying Clothing and Textile Production at FUNAAB, and I’m still learning, still growing.

I’m applying for the Prudential Fashion Academy Scholarship 2026, hoping to refine my craft, expand my creativity, and inspire others through fashion. 🌸

Most of the clothes I own and wear are sewn by me — but this one felt different🥰😊

For my birthday this year, I wanted something soft, rich, and a little extra — so I stitched it with pearls, love, and joy 🤩

✨Every stitch in this gown felt like a love letter to the girl I’ve been and the woman I’m becoming.
I made this outfit with love, overflowing love for myself
