MY LAST EVER PRODUCTION | POPSTARS: THE 90s MUSICAL 🙌🕺🎤

——————————————————

It has been one of the most enjoyable 3 months of my life from the dreadful rehearsals, tech week, dress reherasal, matinees and all 4 shows. Ever since last year when I auditioned for Chicago to take the piss out of it. I found myself so comfortable and having so much fun rehearsing and performing on stage.

It is currently 3:40AM at the time I am writing this and I am finished from closing night and maccas happs. I am feeling nostalgia for the first time and I think it is because of the realisation that I will not be doing anything remotely close to this for the rest of my life. My feelings for this production has been a rollercoaster. I wasn’t a big fan of the show itself but I loved performing it. Before my opening numbers I experienced probably one of the most annoying performance anxieties I have ever gotten. The nerves you get before performing, the thoughts that flood your mind, it genuinely made me not want to do the show and leave. Though after I stepped on stage and got to relive that feeling of performing in front of an audience, I felt so comfortable up there.

What really made the last couple of months as enjoyable as it is, will definitely be the cast members. I love my cast members with all my heart, they made this show possible and this entire journey a fun experience. All the memories I made and now finally experiencing it as a year 13 made me realise just how precious these memories are. I will definitely come back and watch the following shows and see the junior cast members grow as individuals and as performers.

Joining production has been one of my greatest decisions, I love the feeling of performing and the feeling of being able to overcome my preperformance nerves.
At the end of this show I realised, it doesn’t matter what show you do, what matters is the cast members you are surrounded by.
They are the people you can rely on.
They are the people who will make the experience memorable.

And for that, i am grateful for having the best cast i could’ve ever asked for.
